Then left Paris on the day of the strike, on an uncancelled Eurostar. Went to a friends 60th birthday party and met some nice new friends.
Then on Monday 9 December, we spent a great day in Gosport, not an oxymoron, Spent the afternoon / evening drinking lots of wine with the Padmores, then @Giles made a great Chicken with sundried tomatoes dinner. All in all a great day.

Happy to hear you found it interesting @neph93 and @Aetas .
Next year we may tackle a bigger challenge as we attempt a shed for the farm machinery using as much local resources (palms) as possible. That’ll be a 20 by 25 meter structure approximately, with a 4 to 5 meter height.
So you’ll have an opportunity then @Aetas !

We’ve wrapped up our oven-roofing project by laying 50-year old repurposed tiles on the hollowed palm trunks. The tiles have a mortar bed made of mud, cow dung and straw; all three materials abundant at the ranch!
You can see the mortar, yellowish, at the bottom end of each tile in the following pic.

…now, everyone is saying we need to build a new oven to match the roof...
