Picked this up the other day. I’m on the fence on whether to keep it or not. I don’t neeeeeed another watch, but this was a steal and I kind of dig the 24hr hour hand.

For what it’s worth, I paid about $1700 for a similar model years ago…

I tried to wear a 24 hour dial watch a few years back, but I never really adjusted to it.  I think they're cool, though.  I dig Glycines, too.

That’s good to know. It was about $500 at Costco of all places.

Much better after swapping out the shell strap from my Seiko. I like NATO straps, but it’s odd to cover the skeleton back.

I’m still wearing my Hamilton Khaki Pilot Mechanical every day. The only time I swap it out is when I got for a run. Dressed it up a bit for office wear with a leather strap

Quartz is more durable, more intrinsically accurate, and maintenance to a point is cheaper and faster.
The one thing about quartz is that when it finally shits the bed, you have to toss the entire module out, whereas in theory, you can swap out parts with a mechanical (although a poorly maintained mechanical can reach a point of no return as well)

Ah! I hadn't considered the ability to switch out parts. That makes more sense. I'm guessing it would be wise to go with a more "popular," robust movement so that parts would be more readily available at watch repair shops, right? Would that also mitigate the service cost?

                                    (Thank you, BTW)

Provided the lugs don't extend beyond the edge of your wrist, you'll be fine. You'll get used to the size of the watch in a few days.
