Decided to make mimics of the Lynch Silversmith and 100th Anniversary Horsehide Boss boots with the same exact materials that were offered in Japan minus one or two tweaks not available here (let’s see if anybody notices what is missing). Notice the price btw.

I have a sample of it. It's darker and more uniform on the smooth side and the rough side is the color of chocolate. Wouldn't mind getting a pair of Jobmasters with it down the road.
I have three or four pairs of Boss with the MP toe in different leathers but got my first pair with the OG bump toe/ boss last this summer. Did them with harness straps and in black oil tan. I love them but I want more or less the same pair in brown too. I love the oil tanned leather for it’s weight and waterproofing but I’m concerned it is too dark…

How would you guys describe the fit for the jobmasters? I really dig the ones @kkibbey23 has from Division Road. I have weird feet so I’m unsure if the toe box is wide enough in a D fitting or if I’d have to go for an E fit

As far as fit, my feet are pretty normal I've never gone with a E width and I've got more than enough room in the toebox. Its got a pretty good bump on it.
I dig the hell outta the DR makeup. [emoji41]

British Tan is an amazing leather! And I have to say the raptor sole is prob the most comfortable sole going at least from what I've got. Hopefully I'm selling you on them[emoji23][emoji23]

I really want to try the raptor sole on a pair of engineer boots. I know that goes against their classic looks but after having raptors on moc toes I agree they’re the most comfortable thing going. Black Bear did a nice Wesco version that quickly sold out.

I think Raptor soles on engineers is actually quite popular in Japan.
They are indeed. One of the disadvantages with them is that they wear out relatively quickly and are indeed comparatively tricky to change.
Regarding comfort, I don’t know. I got a pair of RW’s with a Christie sole about the same time as I got my viberg smokejumpers on a single mid and #100 lug. I know the intuitive thing is that soft is better, but I’m not sure about that. From experience, I’d rather be standing on a moulded leather mid with a high supporting heel an hard rubber lugs all day.
