Thanks @AdamC. It's really no problem. Glad to hear about the packaging, though. As much as I liked the look, the less waste we can all make the better.

Writing a eulogy is no fucking fun. Luckily I used to write a bit so I got this penned down in 15'.
Still needed a god-damn beer though
(My dad is planning his funeral, it's gonna be a party. He asked my brother and sister to write a text. It'll be read by a person from the funeral service, so I snuck in some really shitty words like "Consiglieri" and "Cent'anni"… I will make sure I write my own eulogy so I can be a complete dick in that as well btw...)

I've been struggling with noise and being fed up with City life for quite a while already.
Now we learnt yesterday, that right beneath our flat there's going to be a 2 month construction site, where they will tear down a Train bride and rebuild it. 24 h / 7 days a week, without caring about noise. But they're offering us to move into a Hotel (as long as it's in my town and doesn't cost more than 90 bucks which basically is nothing here). Plus they're relocating the busroute through our tiny oneway street for this time. By the way, the Trains don't run and get replace by - busses. Great News when you have a 7 month old that has a hard time sleeping at night.

Glad to see this guy calling out ‘influencers’ who try to scam their way into free stuff. [emoji23]

We live in a world of our own creation where social media influencers are actually a thing. Us humans, on balance, are shite.

@UnTucked being a person that has trained in Wing Chun, and looking to restart again, I am really not a fan of the culture that has grown up around it.
It is a very different sport now to when the Gracie family blew the doors off. Every tattoo necked 20 something lad seems to think they are an MMA legend.
MMA doesn't train and teach respect (I've had friends train with a top British trainer, and switch to Muy Thai because of that issue). It is primitive, feral, and as a species we have the capability and intellect to evolve beyond that.
You did ask dude…

Fair answer!
There's definitely a dude/bro vibe amongst the fandom, but as a (casual) fan of the sport, I see it, at the professional level, as a meeting grounds for professionals from differing specialties. I can't name a single pro that predominantly trains in an "MMA gym", rather most specialize in BJJ, Greco Roman wrestling, or Muy Thai, with skills training in other disciplines.
As with most things, we have to take the good with the bad… and unfortunately, the bad is what typically stands out as the "example".
*Connor McGregor is truly an outlier with his behaviour... most in the sport don't condone it.

I was totally harassed by an old lady for parking in front of her house on a public street. In front of my child no less. This woman was clearly batshit crazy [emoji12] told her to go ahead and call the cops if she didn’t like it

I tend to agree, and I tend to disagree. Bear with me:
I think that humans are capable of anything that the laws of nature allow. The culture surrounding us (which doesn't necessarily emerge solely from human essence) can make our species really great or really terrible. For example, Germans, in my experience, are perfectly normal human beings, but under Hitler these otherwise rational folks adopted the story of Nazi Germany: Teutonic superiority and warrior culture, victimhood at the hands of everyone else post WWI, demonization of Jewish and other peoples and ideologies as the agents of this victimhood, eugenic theory, and a destiny of global dominance of the master race, and these perfectly normal folks did monstrous things that no sane person would countenance, much less participate in. If the human race were to adopt a story of unity, truth, sustainability, exploration, and The Golden Rule, I believe that we could reach the other end of the spectrum of our potential as a species. I guess all that is a restatement of Rousseau's tabula rasa.
I think about this a lot these days because we truly are operating as a "virus with shoes" in this post-truth, empathy-deprived society, and I don't think that our behavior at large is a reflection of our nature so much as it is the stories that we are living as well as today's economics. If we can survive these stories and the damage they've done to our selves and our planet, we have a chance for our descendants to adopt different stories and for our species to thrive and less resemble a bacterial infection.
