well, if you're saying that, the glazers have been there for over 10+years. under your theory, SAF should not have won anything from 2005 till the time he retired..
Moyes, LVG and Mou are all respectable managers in their own right. OGS would've taken a leaf out of SAF's book at the very least and is now trying to find his own style. where i felt has gone wrong in the past 5 years is the lack of commitment to push through a deal and overpaying for players that do not fit into this team. They've also wrongly identified the areas that needed to be strengthened.
it doesn't matter if OGS has been prematurely selected. Let's give him a fresh start. i will be really keen to see who he lets go and the players that he will sign and the team he will build.
in my opinion, lukaku, sanchez, martial, fred and dalot all need to go. it's absolutely appalling seeing fred give away the ball time after time and then making rash challenges. he clearly doesn't have the strength to play in that deep lying midfield row. Also, sanchez at arsenal vs sanchez at united is a massive difference. it seems as though he totally forgot how to play football in manchester..

The rot had set in before SAF left. The team Moyes took over had just won the PL against a very ordinary field and were hailed as being the poorest team to ever win the PL. SAF was holding them together. When he left Moyes inherited shite. While LVG, Moyes and Mourinho are all respectable, Moyes was unproven at the top level (and hasn't been back) and LVG and Maureen were a poor fit for the clubs attacking style and heritage and probably past there best too.
The Glazers have shown no interest in redeveloping the stadium or arguably the first team. Have a read of this… https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/apr/07/rivals-grand-designs-put-glazers-neglect-of-old-trafford-in-spotlight&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwieqL_74ePhAhUMJVAKHWXzDkwQFggFMAA&client=internal-uds-cse&cx=007466294097402385199:m2ealvuxh1i&usg=AOvVaw3_bdSHH9v0OCiieeQKRGOG
I agree with you that the squad is carrying a lot of deadwood. I can't see OGS getting the money he needs to turn it around with enough new signings though. There needs to be a long term plan to rebuild Man Utd, and I don't think the Glazers are interested in that.

The glazers haven't been the forefront of news in recent years. i remember back when they made massive headlines about the protests and the whole 'glazer out' saga.
Yes the stadium has been largely neglected and i feel it will come back to haunt them especially with them just sitting on their laurels being the biggest stadium in football in england with the exception of Wembley. nou camp and all the italian teams can make bigger stadiums but no one fills them to the brim like old trafford every game day, be it against barcelona or notts county.
to be fair, as a club, they are making great revenues over the past few years with their sponsors. it's not to say they haven't got any money to spend for players. they've spent over £200million quid on useless players, or rather players that have no proven record like fred or dalot. £75million for lukaku, £50million for FRED!! Without selling out the club to another arab billionaire that's constantly injecting money, i'd say they are doing rather well along with arsenal. the one thing clubs like city and psg lack is the SOUL of the club itself and its fans.
bring on 19/20 season, i can only hope that OGS have an eye out for good talent at reasonable price and buys players to suit his style of football. i'm kinda hopeful because i know he has mike phelan helping him behind the scenes too.

It is crazy how we have gone back to complete shit again since OGS has been appointed. With the exception of DeGea our players individually are simply not talented enough and/or perform too inconsistently to wear the shirt and put up a serious fight for anything at this point. It's frustrating especially considering we had a brilliant run of form when OGS was first appointed (granted with some luck in there as well) and now we are back to complete shit again.

Sorry Scousers, the Toon are killing your title hopes tomorrow
-
Well, we came close. If not for a bit of diving from the scousers, poor defending from us and the width of a crossbar it would have happened.

Fabinho, midfield “hard man”
No chance of Rafa staying, he’ll be on to bigger and better things and we’ll await the second coming of Pardew
