Yeah it’s a hard episode to actually see what the hell is going on.

The quality that is actually put out on tv now, so we can stream it is bad.
People want shows in a instant and for that we lose the quality.

I’ve read and heard others complaining about quality. My 4K telly and normal-ish web connection tackled it admirably. Yes it was dark, yes there was squinting, but it was the dark of a medieval night. I felt the creatives made that work for them. There was certainly no bandwidth issues or pixel-vision.

I get GoT through the streaming channel HBO Nordic here. This is the menu screen for The Long Night episode, I thing their copy writer may need a word or two of motivation:

Eh, it's not like anyone's going to be scrolling through the listings and think to themselves, "hmmm, I wonder what this Game of Thrones business is all about?  What's the episode summary say- Arya looks to prove her worth as a fighter?  Nah, I'll skip this one.  Doesn't sound worth the time."

People gonna watch, no matter what that line says.  I wouldn't put in my best effort either.  I'd probably do something even lazier, like "Lots of fighting. Some people die."
