Loved it. Was pretty tense at points

It was such a great episode! I hope this means there are more great things to come for the end of the series.
Without spoiling: it was a fitting end for the characters we lost, and worthy additions to the arcs of those who continue to kick ass! I personally can’t wait for next Sunday.

Episode 3 was really intense.
Semi-spoiler - I am actually surprised by how many of the main characters in the battle actually survived. I had fully prepared myself to see most die.
SPOILER!! I was also pleased with how they ended the episode. Having Jon or Dany be the hero would have been underwhelming.

@BloodnThunder 100% agree. I was a little underwhelmed with Brand, though. Couldn't he have done a little more? Couldn't he have gone back and time and checked out how the Night King was first defeated? The plan seemed to rely on chance a lot. Other than that quibble, I enjoyed it very much. Overall, the show seems to be more interested in King's Landing. The plots are more dynamic when they focus on the politic aspect of the story rather than the more fantasy aspects. I am also excited to focus on that power struggle, too. It seems a more fitting ending to the show.

I have to think that Bran was seeing something during his time in the God's Wood that will be revealed later on. If all he was actually doing was flying around as a crow in a blizzard waiting for the Night King to show up then the producers really failed on that front.

I hope so. At this point, it just seems if he's like all millennials and is always on his "phone" when they get bored.
-
Agreed. If you look all the way back to the beginning the laundry list of characters that have died defending him is huge! I like to think at some point before the end of the show he will be in the same room as Cersei and some really insane brain ninja stuff will happen. At least that's what I hope for.

Brain ninja. Lol

That reminds me, it occurred to me last night that:
Arya + Brann = River Tam

I wished HBO would let iTunes sell this season. They will probably only release it after it's done and in the meantime all I get are (semi) spoilers.
Not to mention I haven't watched Endgame either…
@JDelage I would purchase a one month subscription to HBO through Amazon. We're far enough along in the season you could binge watch the first three episodes, complete the season, and cancel the subscription before it renews for month two.
The fact everything in the first three episodes hasn't been spoiled for you already is surprising. Anywhere you look on social media or the internet in general is covered with GOT content.

Think I might watch that episode again it was that good. Plus I am sure I will notice things I missed the first time around.

I’m still a bit stunned by the experience of watching the episode last night. Not so much the drama and plot twists, although they were great, but the intensity of it. The darkness, horror and fear were omnipresent.
I might have felt the same way if I could've seen anything.
Good call on River Tam, by the way. Though she's a lot more fun that either Arya or (especially) Bran…

Yeah it’s a hard episode to actually see what the hell is going on.
The quality that is actually put out on tv now, so we can stream it is bad.
People want shows in a instant and for that we lose the quality.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve read and heard others complaining about quality. My 4K telly and normal-ish web connection tackled it admirably. Yes it was dark, yes there was squinting, but it was the dark of a medieval night. I felt the creatives made that work for them. There was certainly no bandwidth issues or pixel-vision.

Eh, it's not like anyone's going to be scrolling through the listings and think to themselves, "hmmm, I wonder what this Game of Thrones business is all about? What's the episode summary say- Arya looks to prove her worth as a fighter? Nah, I'll skip this one. Doesn't sound worth the time."
People gonna watch, no matter what that line says. I wouldn't put in my best effort either. I'd probably do something even lazier, like "Lots of fighting. Some people die."
