TRUE DETECTIVE S03: 7 eps down, 1 to go. No more how they tie it all up, it's been an absolute phenomenal season, mostly because of the stellar acting of the two main characters.
Doesn’t have the same level of thrills as S1, or the same off centre characters but the quality of the storytelling, creation of atmosphere and place, and as you say the acting is top drawer. Mesmerising at times.
The supporting cast do a fine job too (the wife, Purcell), but Ali and Dorff are astonishing over the four decades their characters move in. Almost regardless of how they end it, it is more mature and accomplished series than the first.

Currently watching Ash vs Evil dead S3. Wrong on so many levels but so right
I don't think i've laughed this hard during a tv show in awhile

Was pleased with how S3 of True Detective ended up. An almost entirely happy ending was not what I expected but it was a nice change of pace. Acting by the mains was strong all the way through the season.

I enjoyed it thoroughly. Was saying to Hot Ingrid that while S1 had a lot of ott cod philosophy about good and evil this series was actually legitimately about something other than the crime. Memory, loss, the futility of human endeavour, fekk it, getting old. The very last scene with a young Purple Hays disappearing into the impenetrable undergrowth was a great bit of metaphor for his encroaching dementia and and for his experience of the case itself.

^ Agreed. SPOILERS!!!!! While I prefer S1 the most, S3 was really great. In comparing the two seasons (we'll leave out S2) it was a nice change of pace to have a totally different tragedy. S1 they basically rescued 2 kids and failed to solve a majority of the larger crime(s) occurring. S3 he solves the case but tragically doesn't realize it when he's staring her in the face. Ultimately there was a similar amount of resolution but in a very different way. Made for a nice twist.

SUNDERLAND TIL I DIE - well if you're an Anglophile as I would describe myself, this is must-see telly… Great Netflix 8-part doc about (you've guessed it): FC SUNDERLAND.
I've only watched two eps so far but am completely in love... It helps that I don't give a toss about football so I've no idea what actually happened with the team in the Championship last year

we watched the first 3 episodes of Homecoming last night. Really enjoying. It has hints of Lynch about it. Interesting camera work and lighting. Looking forward to watching the rest.
Fleabag series 2 is great so far, and as for This Time with Alan Partridge…before the series started I had my doubts about it's BBC1 9:30pm time slot, I needn't have, really enjoying it.
True Detective series 3 is up on Amazon Prime so that's our next watch....18 episodes though> have they drawn it out 6 episodes too long??

+10 cool points
TOP GEAR S26… Leblanc's last season... Unfortunately... Cause right now (I'm on ep 5) I'm convinced this is a) better than The Grand Tour and b) better than most TG of the last couple of years... Watch 'm do a handless dragrace... With Harris and Leblanc júst missing eachother at about 80mph... Exhilerating...
THE GRAND TOUR S03... Well it's a telltale sign when, as an avid TG fan, you smack your forehead whilst yelling out "NOT AGAIN"... Hammond and May driving an F-40 and a Lambo Countach... How many times are they gonna use these cars and pitch them against one another?.. Very little magic, and no original, fresh ideas left it seems... It's all very Michael Bay-ish... Looks spectacular, but it's completely devoid of depth or content...

BODYGUARD… https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7493974/
I don't know why it took me so long to finally sit the fuck down and watch it... It's absolutely fantastic... Last episode was so tense I'm sure I'll be dropping turds with knots in 'm tomorrow morning...
Also... Strong, smart, sexy women that say "Cheers" a lot?.. Oh dear...

@Seul …and starting next Sunday is a new series of Line of Duty also penned by Jed Mercurio which is literally too intense to watch sometimes.
