Worth a look at for those folks that like field watches:

I've been saying for years that the SARG009 and SARG011 are great watches, and the prices on the secondary market are still going up. I've had the SARG011 for a couple years and it's more accurate than my COSC certified watches.

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

I initially thought to just give him the Hamilton that I'm trying to get rid of, but I'll let him trash something a little bit cheaper first, lol!

I like the GS/TP watches too, but do bear in mind that they're very small.

The Tender leather straps are really nice, and should pair well with one of these.

At £155 most would consider this a cheap watch. It is battery ok not mechanical, but for bumming about without caring about damage it's served me well in the 3 years I've owned it.

Don’t know much about the Nixon brand , but I like the look of this one .
Simple lines and classy looking .

Does it come like that (ie. is the oxidisation forced)?

No, it needs to be abused for the green patination to form. Pretty much every bronze watch starts off looking like this.

In that case it is very cool.

Interesting that the owner got so much green oxidation.  Most of the bronze watches I've seen tend to turn black.  I'm guessing there was a lot of salt water exposure?

It depends on how the patina formed. Some people force it through exposing their watch to chemicals, which is kinda like distressing your jeans.

I think that I've posted this link before, in which an innocent Pinion watch gets experimented on.

If it's come about through wear and abuse, it's very cool.

Nope. Still don't like bronze for a watch case.

I love bronze but I hate verdigris oxydation. Bronze will take on a nice, rich, reddish bronze patina in the right condition.

I think I like bronze more in concept than in reality.  New bronze looks great, especially when it's a higher copper mix and has a nice reddish, less brassy, tinge to it.  Once it starts to oxidize, though, I don't love it.  If I ever owned one, I suspect I'd be obsessively cleaning it every few days.  Guess I'll just stick to titanium.
