IH-805 - 21oz Indigo Selvedge Denim Double Knee Overalls

My overalls have these psychedelic electric blue fades happening all over. I am amazed. Also, it seems like the filthier these get the more insanely soft they get. I was looking at the denim through a magnifying glass in the sun recently and I couldn't believe the sheen and color composition of the denim. It is like an infinite spectrum of blues and prismatic rainbows all over in the sun. Stuff like this makes me believe in God.

They are looking excellent @Filthy 21/23oz junkie . I really wish I could wear these casually or in a work setting to justify owning them.

I saw your post on another thread about blow outs with these and I meant to reply but got distracted so I'll do it here.

I thought they looked good for a while yet. There was one spot on what I guess was the to the front and right from the crotch seam that looked like it was thinning the worst. Are there any loose threads showing?

Thanks. There's no loose threads yet. Just that spot on the front right and the 2 limes on the back left that are white and the denim feels extra pliable there.

In my book, when you start seeing broken weft and loose warp then you should patch/darn or do whatever repair you think best. "A stitch in time…" and all that. Until then you're good.

The 3rd rinse even had a tinge of blue in it. I can't wait until these get dry so I can see them. Tempted to put them though the washer on the spin cycle… But I won't. I'll just use towels and fans.

These seem to be fading rapidly now. I think I washed these 4 or 5 times with Fels Naptha using my method. Not washed the first couple months, then about once every 2 months.
I'll post full pics in 3 months when these have over a year on them. I have something cool planned for that… a full 3D scanned model of them.

@Chap  after last weekend, Hot Ingrid’s instant reaction when I mention IH or the forum is an eye roll or a stfu. When I showed her the «Mad Red Motherlover» she started swearing profusely in Norwegian. I’m afraid the overalls will send her over the edge and she’ll stab me with whatever is at hand.
