How Deep is Your Eccentricity?

… Loading the dishwasher, similar items of cutlery are grouped together making it easy when unloading and putting the cutlery back into the cutlery drawer. I am calling this one an "optimisation" trait.
Drives me nuts when when dissimilar drinking glasses are mixed up in the cupboard, they should of course be grouped together. Also pint glasses with printed logos, the logos all face the front of cupboard.
Of course … that's the least that could be done!

This is the correct way when you have toddlers who like to slap at the roll to watch it unspool. I'm told cats do the same thing.

Inspired by the discussion re: how to lace up your sneakers here, I thought we should dedicate a thread to what really is all within us, otherwise we would not here here….
Come on let's hear it...

I have serious «completionist» tendencies. If something exists in three iterations and I own two of them, I have to have the third, even though I don’t need it (or in some cases particularly like it).
This extends to music as well. Before streaming and downloading, if I liked a band/artist based on one or two albums I’d hunt down everything they’d ever done despite knowing much of it would be crap.

Thread copycat ?! … identical topic (word for word)

Why would someone do this? I meant copy a thread?

@Finkster hahaha. We moved house in December 2017. The removal guys took one look at my music room, looked at each other and sighed. Not in an envious 'wow' kind of way, more a 'for fuck's sake…' way

Same, except i'd take that a step further and sometimes own duplicates of albums – cd and vinyl. My music buying days are pretty much over but I am a sucker for limited edition releases, especially if they're on colored vinyl. I have a few vinyl releases that are still in their shrink wrap too. The problem with this collectors mentality is that if you buy vinyl and just let it sit in the shrink wrap the sleeve will eventually bend and warp over time.

Surprised I never saw this thread. How deep is my Eccentricity? I'll start with very deep. I don't have enough time to start with it now. Okay, I'll start with when I find a style of jeans I like I buy multiple pairs, as I don't want to be without them. Then next I don't think one can ever have too many denim shirts. Hows that for a starter?
-
@ROman there's nothing wrong with buying multiples of the same jeans.
The rest of you bastards are crazy. -
Yeah, just last night I was thinking that if I had known how much I would like the jeans I was wearing, I would have bought at least two, probably three pairs.

This one doesn’t keep me up at night, and it’s not a knock on the IH crew at all (thank you for the endless pimpage over the last year), but it definitely causes a little mental discomfort to see the IH logo on my Heavyweight snaps not all perfectly facing the same direction. Again it doesn’t keep me from wearing the shirts and I hope you don’t hate me for mentioning….
I think it’s a bit like @Chris thoughts on watch’s screw head direction

I find myself starting to count the number of steps whenever I go up a flight, have to tell myself to stop….
I find myself checking to make sure my coffee maker is unplugged and that the stove is turned off, like 2 or 3 times before I leave my place ???

i think that's pretty normal. sometimes i take 2 steps at a time, to see if i can still do multiplications in my head..
