Usually I prefer the uninterrupted Heel Stack, my RW Blacksmiths are at the moment at the Cobbler to get the Dr Sole Half Sole + Double Midsole Style done but on a Winter Boot I tend to prefer not to have the exposed Leather undernath the Boot.

I can get behind that, half-soles look good and perform adequately for 3 seasons out of 4, but I wouldn't like to face the winter armed with half-sole boots only. #100 gets lots of stick for the looks but they perform (and I like the looks too).

^ With you  both on all that. Except that my half soles are good for 1.5/4 seasons[emoji849]

On the right boot the #100 is fire.

Imo, I can survive most of 3 seasons on my 705. The 430 is good for most everything except extremely icy conditions. The 100F on my work boots will definitely handle anything you could want it to

They look like custom Boss in burgundy or maybe brown domain, on double midsoles with the Vibram #100 outsole. It may be the bump toe last rather than the standard Boss last. The major custom mod appear to be no instep or shaft straps. They do look very nice indeed.

Steel toed Boss's without straps, in their standard brown, can't remember the name, vibram 100 sole, I think.

I got the opportunity to try on a Wesco 7400 with the MP toe in my regular size and found it was okay around the toe/mid section but way too spacious at the heel even with thick socks and a thicker insole (though it did get a bit tight around the front). Lots of heel slip, far more than I would feel comfortable walking with. I guess I'll be sizing down and up in width after all, but I'm looking to do a Foot Patrol which doesn't even have a heel counter so I don't know. For anyone that has tried on both a FP and an engineer, does the heel counter affect the sizing at all?

Azan, my suggestion would be to pony up the one time for a custom fit. It really is worth the single $100 investment and you're not going to really wait any longer than you would for any other custom build.
