IH-555-02 - 18oz Selvedge Denim Slim Jeans - Indigo

I just bought a pair. This is my "going back to the beginning" jean.
My 1st IH pair I bought was a 34w 666s. I outgrew them and refuse to get rid of them. So I washed them and put them on the shelf as the gateway jean for my 14 year old son.
It boggles my mind that these aren't getting the love and attention they deserve, and I want in before they are gone for good! Wearing these & my 888 uhr for now.

Dunno yet…..But whatever we decide to do, it's a long way off, we have shed loads of this version left....
The damn things are almost too indestructible. You can't easily sell people a second pair if they can't bust up the first pair.
Here's what I'm looking at after 10 months of daily wear. Haven't washed yet more out of laziness than anything else. Maybe I will soon! Fairly hard wear, and no signs of damage beyond the hem. I don't think I've ever had any heavyweight denim make it past a year of actual wear without a modest amount of repairs, and I've had some crappy jeans (read: Oni) lose virtually all indigo and be pretty much blown out in 9 months, so these have been really refreshing.

I forgot how much texture this material has though! These bleed as much as my sii's!
These are my 1st 555's and they fit my body type better than the 888's. Lesser rise and less thigh are good for me.
I'm 6'2" with a long torso, larger thighs and backside, and think these slimmer cut jeans are more flattering on me. Make my legs look longer than they are on my silhouette. Props to IH for knowing how to cut an excellent piece of denim!

So I thinking of pulling the trigger on these, I just had a question for sizing: I have a pair of Beatle Busters (IHxB01) in a 40 and they fit me really great in the top block, but from the knee down they were bigger than I would have liked.
If I get a tagged size 40 in the 555-02, will the shrinkage from the knee down get me the fit I'm looking for?

The two cuts are different. The BB’s have only a mild taper while the 555’s have a more defined taper and are narrower than BB’s down the entire leg. They are meaningfully narrower below the knee. Shrinkage has nothing to do with this as the material will shrink proportionally.
