I don't know why, but this is the first time I've been in Houston end of July, and the weather is 100F, but I don't feel I'm walking into a sauna the minute I walk outside. First day I got here was hot, but other than that it's been OK.
Right. That’s why the people who B and M about dry heat have no leg to stand on! Hope you have a great trip Sam.

I'm in Houston for the weekend, and I agree, it actually wasn't that bad. Looks like the forecast for today is 100 degrees and only 60 percent humidity.
So pretty dry, by Houston standards…

This is actually the nicest thing I've ever heard anyone say about Huston, and I have relatives in TX so it comes up more than it would otherwise.

After living there for 12 years, I have lots of things to say about Houston, not all of them bad. Most, but not all.

I was going through some things to donate to the thrift store and came across these relics from when I was briefly in the Boy Scouts. These patches were gifted to our troop from the Japanese troop. I think I lasted 1 year before calling it quits [emoji1]

Just back home from two weeks holiday in Spain. Before I left I'd made a short sales list that included two pairs of jeans that had become a little too big for me.
After fourteen days of pan-y-allioli, chorizo, jamon iberico, jamon serrano, boquerones fritos, chiperones fritos, calamares a la romana, calamares a la plancha, gambas a la plancha, gambas al ajillo, queso, queso, queso, y queso mas, and a fair to middling daily serving of cerveza and Soberano; they now fit again

I used to work in one of their forecasting stations.
In a hilarious incident people a few hundred yards away contacted us to say lightning had just stuck near their building. -

In a hilarious incident people a few hundred yards away contacted us to say lightning had just stuck near their building.@dave28 I've just consulted my kelp seaweed and cast the bones…I'm now expecting biblical floods and a plague of locusts Friday night into Saturday, the clearing from the south west to clear but cloudy but sunny but rainy dry wet spells. As long as I get to bust out one of my new Wabash 68s I don't care!

I come down from African princes and Gypsy kings, so I should tolerate the heat. While I do ok with it, I much prefer the cool Scandi summer.
I liked that phrase too. But I am a sucker for some cheap alliteration.
