Yeah, they definitely went sideways in the last three or so episodes. I read the other two books after watching the show, and the show runners pulled a few (minor) things from later books, which was interesting.
I actually liked the show, though. I knew going in that it wasn't going to adhere closely to the text, so I was prepared for it and accepted it. Having that base helped me to perceive the show as independent from the books and try to take it on its merits, rather than constantly comparing the two and driving myself insane over the divergences. That said, they kind of lost their focus and didn't quite manage to keep all the plot balls in the air as they were juggling everything.
It will be interesting to see how they manage a second series, if they decide to do one.

Weird, weirder, THE WOLFPACK…

I think I read somewhere they were tentatively planning S02 late in 2019. Unfortunately the male lead has signed onto another series.
My predictions: they will continue to go with the private investigator storyline and change out the lead Doctor Who style as necessary. The studio has already said they will not be going in the same path as the books as it would be too expensive to follow the second book.
I hope they keep the female lead from the first season. She's…a very good actress...

It was almost as if the show should've been nine episodes, and they stretched out the last two into three episodes.
This is my regular complaint about Netflix original shows. They always have about 2-3 episodes more than the storyline can sustain.

Weirdly, he reminded me of Bobby Lee. I kept expecting him to crack a joke. It was disconcerting.

HAPPY!

It's weird, sacrilegious, dirty, violent, funny; it's fun… I just don't like Happy's voice... Done by Oswalt... I hate the guy... He's the only bad thing about JUSTIFIED... And I freaking LOOOOOOOVE JUSTIFIED…
