I'm with Chris. If I wanted intellectual stimulation I wouldn't go to the movies. I have to think and be creative all day at work. Sometimes you just need to watch people get shot and blown up.

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

Speaking of which, John Wick 3 is less than one year away. My boss thought I was nuts when I already put in my leave slip for May 17, 2019.

Agreed.  xXx: Return of Xander Cage was one of my favorite movies to come out last year. Vin Diesel drives a motorbike on the ocean.  It's frickin awesome…

Screw you guys. 😛  I'm totally fine with mindless crap.  I watch movies to turn my mind off for a couple of hours.  Explosions, unbelievable plots and CGI fakery work just fine for me.

That's why I giggle like a school girl each time a new Fast and Furious movie comes out.

EDIT: and to answer your question, Doug-
              Oh.  My.  God.  YES.

              I’m with Chris and Doug

              Maybe so. Maybe not

PR2 was ok but not as good as the first one. I liked John Boyega's character but Scott Eastwood couldn't act his way out of a paper bag

Not that the acting in the first one was stellar either…the Japanese girl would go back and forth between Japanese and English in the same sentence...

It's like her English was so terrible she would have to finish her thought in her native tongue

John Wick 1 and 2 are the best movies in the world.

Oh, so many great/terrible movies here.  Return of Xander Cage was truly bad, and I loved it.  John Wick 1 and 2 were fantastic, though I liked 1 better.  And Doug, my hat's off to you- requesting the day off for the premiere of 3 is next level.

Pacific Rim 2 wasn't terrible, and Scott Eastwood's acting isn't much better than his dad at that age. Clint basically squinted and shot his way though most of his movies.

Batman Ninja was a complete shitshow though. I'm writing those 90 minutes of my life off on my taxes as a capital loss.

Shite of the highest order. I like a good war movie but this one seemed to hit every cliche known to man. Being straight-to-dvd and being a Bruckheimer film should've tipped me off. I like Chris Hemsworth but god he was horrible.

Deadpool 2 was awesome. Most funny, most inappropriate movie I have seen since … well .. Deadpool 1. I had a blast.

I'm hesitating reg. Solo. Where those movies suffer, IMHO, is that there's no cannon anymore. Each director does whatever they want, and as long as there are x-wings & lightsabers, it's considered Star Wars enough. One thing that drives me up the walls is how equipment evolves from one movie to another. So in ep. V, you see Empire bombers (they look like oversized, dual body Tie fighters) bombing the asteroid where the Millenium Falcon is hiding, to no effect. Fair enough. Then in the prequels (ep. III?) Jango Fett tries to loose Kenobi in an asteroid field and uses bombs that split asteroids in two for miles around! Where were those a generation later in Ep. V? Finally in TLJ / ep. VIII, the resistance has super dupper shitty bombers crawling at the speed of a lame snail and dropping bombs that require manual triggering!!! WTF?

With regard to super hero movies, I think each movie tries to do too much. My favorite is probably The First Avenger, because it's a story that takes its time to set things up. I still enjoyed Infinity Wars though. It's very well crafted.

There were plenty of bits where Logan was throwing out expletives left and right. At one point Logan says, "stay outta my shit!" My son responds with, "he has a ship?"  😃 Not gonna live this one down if he starts throwing out F bombs around his mom

I quite enjoyed Infinity War but, it didn't leave me as satisfied as Ragnarok and the GOTG movies did.
