I kinda remember Predators starting well, but then running out of steam. I agree on Justice League. Really dull, generic bad guy, but Aquaman was fun enough for me to be mildly interested in his upcoming movie.

Predators was ok but not great. Laurence Fishburn showing up halfway thru the film was kinda dumb. Wait, he did the same thing in the movie Passengers. Overall it was just an average film that mimicked the first Predator movie without being as cool.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot he was in it! I just remember thinking that the whole two kinds of predators was weak. The first part was kind of a cool idea, though.

Avengers Infinity War was…......pretty good.
I agree, it was pretty good. Not sure where the series is headed. I understand the end credit scene and the captain marvel clue, but that doesn’t interest me at all. The Movie bummed me out.

Yeh, the more I think back on it the more I think it was actually pretty much just a Disney shit

Just wondering whether anyone other than teenage boys has movie recommendations for me in this thread?
if I here one more superhero flick I'll be forced to watch Irreversible again and the gouge my eyeballs out with a used tampon.

Three very random flicks I'd recommend everyone:
MILLER'S CROSSING (1990, Coen bros)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100150/
PATHS OF GLORY (1957, Kubrick)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050825
BOUND (1996, Wachowski bros)

If you like Primer, I highly recommend Shane Carruth's second film, Upstream Color.

I'll watch it someday. Carruth lost me over the years because it took him so damn long to make Upstream Color. Just read his bio on imdb and I guess he's married to Amy Seimetz who's one of the actresses from Alien: Covenant. I reckon Carruth could deliver a decent Alien film

@Matty123 a real book or a graphic novel?
@gaseousclay I've seen all those films but Primer, so I'll look that up, thanks. My wife and I watched the road when it was released. She still talks about the human livestock basement scene now

Touché amigo. However I just like marvel movies. That was the first time I went to the theatre in 2 years.
A great book rec you “ A confederacy of dunces.” Funny book. -

I think you'll dig it. The best part about this movie is that it was made on a shoestring budget of about $7000. Shane Carruth basically took the Robert Rodriguez approach and did virtually everything such as writing the script, directed, acted in, scored the soundtrack, editing, etc. Pretty amazing when you think of the ridiculous amounts of money that goes into most films these days.

Miller's Crossing! My favorite Coens film. Partly based on "Red Harvest" by Dashiell Hammett

Going to watch Akira tomorrow. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched Akira. Should be interesting to see in/on imax. Also Your Name is on after, so watching that as well. Should be a fun evening.

@Morose_Penguin I saw Your Name last year. If you haven't seen it already, it's worth it.
@Stuart.T I liked Isle of Dogs and The Shape of Water recently. In the past (off the top of my head), The Red Turtle, Colossal, Swiss Army Man (though that might appeal to the teenager too much), and there's probably a few more that I could think of given time.

@Graeme
This will be the first time I've seen it on imax, the second time I've seen it in London, the third time I've seen it at the cinema and the umpteenth time I've seen it full stop. It has possibly become my favourite Makoto Shinkai ever. Closely followed if not tied with 5cm per second. Due to the success of Your Name I'm not sure that he has started work on his next project yet. No doubt it will be worth the wait.
