Comparing the weight of my 21oz 634s - 1.02kg, against my 634SR at 1.33kg, my calculations make the SR's denim weight just over 26oz and added to that the 634s are 1.5" longer in the leg than the SR's!!

I would guess Simon is calculating that because the 634s and their 21 oz denim weigh 1.02kg, and a similarly sized pair of 634sr weight 1.33 kg (about 30% heavier), and both pair have rivets and pockets and buttons and such but those factors are going to equal out for the most part, well then the sr denim must be about 30% heavier, so 21 oz plus another 30% equals… just over 27 oz... or some sort of similar calculation...

                                  My calculation:

634sr denim = heavy enough for me

Simon’s calculations are fine and are the method I use to establish the weight of fabrics I do not know the weight of……....It does not matter what the weight of either is (though of course the person doing the math does need to know), what matters is the ratio and that then gets applied to 21….

I don't have the 634s to compare but I thought I'd read the 634sr was a little fuller cut than the 634s, no? (comparing the same size, of course)

you know what this means, right Simon? Now we expect measurements from you, take this math to the next level…

NO.  We make the assumption that the 21 really does weigh 21oz.  We then weigh a pair of 634S  and a pair of 634sr in the same tag size.  The 634S weigh (lets say) 120% of the pair of 634S, then the weight of the denim in the 634SR is 21x1.20 = 25,2
