Such a shame.. Yet another timeless classic getting sucked into the modern era. I figured this one would have been the long longest serving IH grail piece. Worst part its, I never grabbed one!! Maybe somewhere out there in the universe an L is floating around for me
. Aslo, personally I don't like the pockets, I don't like the wearing lines that form around the belly that come as a result of the inner structure. The clean lines on the front from pockets to waist band shouldn't be F"d with IMO. Also contrast stitching makes them stand out even more.. noo. Just my two cents… -
I think they may come without contrast stitching on the pockets. Haraki seems to be favoring that lately. I agree it looks nicer with tonal stitching on the hand warmer pockets.

The sample piece in the 526PJ thread looks to have tonal stitching for the pockets.

As my old one didn't fit me properly anymore (too big :-[) I decided to snag this beauty again a size smaller before it goes extinct. Already as excited as I've been when ordering it the first time.

There may be a restock. I have gone out to retailers and asked for orders (I have got none yet). I thought that it would be a no-brainer, so I made the product extant again, I may have been premature.
The rise in price has got nothing to do with currency fluctuations.
Costs have been increasing drastically in Japan. New labour laws have increased employment costs by 20%. Some of our more recent releases have taken the new cost base into account, most of the older products have not had the new cost base factored into wholesale cost and retail price.
I have asked Haraki to get all the Japanese costs sorted so we can get our pricing corrected. You may (probably) see the retail price of most of the older extant products rise once we have done that calculation.
I costed and priced the IH-526J at the same price as the IH-526PJ, as that is the best and most accurate cost I have for something similar.
