Watches - another OCD problem

Black lumes?
Apparently it's a thing. The Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Black Black uses it.
At night it looks like this.
I didn't know it existed either. However, I couldn't see Rolex doing something like this, as they tend to be on the conservative side.

@louisbosco I’m glad that strap is working out for you! It looks good.

@Graeme I think you should be a technical writer for Hodinkee. That railmaster is a very nice looking watch. How does it feel on the wrist?
The trouble with writing for Hodinkee is that I'd probably make fun of the vintage obsession, fixation on small watches, and Ben Clymer's dress sense. I'd probably not last long.
-
Ben Clymer's background was as a project manager at UBS until Hodinkee took off, and whilst that's likely to pay well, it's not going to be enough to make someone rich. He does seem to lead an enviable lifestyle, having a decent watch collection, and a vintage 911, so he's doing something right.
Hodinkee raised $3.6 million when they merged with Watchville in 2015, but other than that it'll be down to work for hire, advertising, and selling through their shop.

insider trading -
@Graeme Sometimes I think working in Finance especially for younger People is as well as it pays for most guys just a way to make Money to pay for Stuff they really enjoy, the he worked at Bank XY until the thing he likes to do took of Story basiclly the way every Car Youtube Channel in existence started
-
@Steffen I think that more than a few of these car YouTubers come from wealthy families, and aren't as self-made as they claim.
Clymer was a project manager, so probably not making the hundreds of thousands or millions in bonuses that traders and dealmakers would.
That said, I think that most of these watch blogs run on content paid for by the manufacturers.

That is a gorgeous understated time piece. [emoji122]

I have had my IHWA-01 for best part of 5 years now. When I got it, put it on a IH-WS1 - Iron Heart Watch Strap.
I have swum 100's of miles in salt water, done 100's of scuba dives, fished hard in the tropcs and generally mistreated the shit out of it. It's actually got loads of life left in it, but I decided to go a tad off-piste…..
