UPDATE TO MY RANT FROM MONDAY

Day 2 of the Snowpocalypse (yesterday):

Sent home from work at 2pm… All non-essential operations are shut down until further notice...

Day 3 of the Snowpocalypse:

No work.

Meanwhile, I can still see trees blooming from my living room window.

I've been in England for 1.5yrs, and I lived in Germany for 3.5yrs before… German winter is more harsh, but far more pleasant, lol

Yes.  It is extremely embarrassing…..

A few weeks ago I had to drive my daughter to the in-laws, so she can attend the children’s carnival there, together with her brother.

I drove there to drop them off, drove back home and returned a few hours later to pick the kids up when it looked like this all the time. No biggie.

So seeing the drama in the UK just leaves me shaking my head in irritation. One would think that a nation that is famous for its sub optimal weather is not so easily set in panic by a few snowflakes.

Things are not looking good for those in mid-Atlantic to New England in the U.S. in the next day or two - "Bomb cyclone" and huge flood risk.

Snowpocalypse, Day 4:

-Work is cancelled again…..

-Boiler won't ignite... I suspect the condensate pipe frozen over... Sounds like an easy fix, but I live on the 3rd floor. Calling the landlord soon if further trouble shooting doesn't yield positive results

-My supervisor contacted me to let me know that I should be charging vacation hours for these forced days off… Drafting an email to corporate now.
