I'm wearing mine with the default design. They fit fine within my IH denims. And although they did take about 20 days to begin to break in, they are very comfortable and totally in sync with the values and quality that make Iron Heart (or Wesco) the brand of choice. Well done and excellent choice Giles & team. And great work on the construction of this excellent boot.

What hem width does the pant need to wear such a boot?

It’s going to be different from person to person given sizing and hemming, but I think you’ll be good with all IH cuts with the exception of the 777 and 555. I can wear my 11” Boss with my 555’s but only because the straps are a few inches further up the leg than they will be on these. The hem would come into conflict with the harness straps at 8” I think.

Really loving these and I think they may be my favorite boot of all time. Also, burlap roughout is now my favorite leather. Hard as nails, goes with everything, and I think you will agree ages beautifully.

The midsole is finally starting to give so I don't have as much heel slippage/

See pics a few posts back for some mods I had Wesco do. I'm sure before too long, I'm gonna need a heel replacement as these are heels are starting to breakdown somewhat. I will likely ask wesco to revert back to the original heel that IH had these made with as I prefer the longer look of the stack…IMHO it does look more balanced than what I have modified it to.

This is 8months and I've been wearing them pretty much everyday.

You won’t be satisfied until you wear Iron Heart.

@marlin ; I find the stacked heel in your boots takes their nice looks to another level. Congrats.

A word to the wise.  I specced these boots to have a really thin rubber heel, my aim was to make the whole profile better looking.  Unfortunately, the downside is that the rubber wears out pretty quickly. Form over function - mea culpa….

hands down my favorite boot since I purchased these last year.

Let me just say as someone who had the heel replace with a thicker one, I very much prefer the look of the thinner heel….as in when my current thicker heel gets swapped out, I will ask Wesco to use the thinner heel because I like the look that much better.

That heel makes me miss the way mine used to look... 😢

Yes @Giles, I‘am aware of that, but as as you and others have said, that‘s the beauty about this boots. I will see how long it last, but I‘am almost certain that I will stay with the thinn heel.

Thanks for the Feedback, @madmonday and @Appfaff!

I just put in a custom boot order to Wesco and have asked for a thinner heel a la this model because I feel it looks much better esthetically….nice call on this one G, it’s quite a beaut right out of the box!

Thought I'll make a quik head to head comparison. The Build 5 I have since 3 month, the TBWE-PO is worn only a week. Maybe this helps someone who is undecided which one to get?

With the grey card I tryed to get the colors as close as possible.
