Our Cars (dream or actual)

Thanks chaps.
It's a DCT; my first car that isn't your traditional manual. It's a great gearbox attached to a phenomenal engine.
I've always hankered after an M3 and with our second child due last November, my better half suggested I also get a car that would take a child seat. That was all the excuse I needed and I bought it last September.
Heartbrakingly, five days after I picked it up our number one son was diagnosed with cancer. He's only two. We've basically been living at Great Ormand St Hospital since then, neither of us have worked in five months and I've not even had a chance to sell the car it was supposed to replace.
The M3 has kinda become my 'happy place' at the moment and I escape in it or just give it a therapeutic clean when I get a rare break.
I'm very much hoping I get to keep it, but if I don't manage to get back to work sometime soon, it might be up for sale. -
oh. that's one of the best M3 ever made. still my one true love. but i have to say, for the record, E90 over E92. and i think i'm the only one that feels that, quite the unpop..
@Clint_D i'm surprised that they don't have the estate/wagon in the US. is that just the C class in general or merc as a whole? the E63 amg wagon is such a beast just on paper, definitely my dream.. just ask @Giles how it was…
-
I hate to hear that about your son's health issues @Streetwise Hercules. I am glad that the M3 brings you some joy through such troubling times…
I agree about the E90! It seems that they've been growing in popularity in the US. In fact, this car dealer has been snatching up most all they can find as they suspect it will be a future classic and they are already charging prices to reflect that. These guys were instrumental in driving up prices for the E30 M3's, E46 M3's and M Coupes:
We do get the E63 wagons here but they're incredibly rare. I've only ever seen a handful.
-
i'm guessing it'll be a classic one day as well.
though the prices here in australia do not reflect that yet.. but that s65 engine is such an over engineered piece of art derived from the v10 version in the E60, another stellar car. it's almost impossible to find your above mentioned M's in australia for a decent price. 30s 46s. and the M coupe? you might as well forget it.
However, the most common of the trinity around is the c63 amg, w204 version. that's one car that has been hugely popular compared to the 4 door M version of the E90. and the c63 prices are quite decent given the amount that you can find for sale..

Thanks fellas. One day at a time.
Yeah, the E90 has a bit of a cult following and I do see why. To me, it can look like it's been rear-ended from some angles and I just had to have that carbon fibre roof.

i must say it actually looks visually appealing. that grey…
-
@louisbosco I like that grey too, Audi and Porsche do a pretty similar one too but if it gets a bit dirty especially in Winter ot looks quite sad and a bit awful.

Took my wife’s care in for service, the young kids at the dealership put me in this as my loaner for the day.
Luckily, they know me after a few nights drinking beer together, so they thought this was hilarious…
