I had a conversation with a coworker a couple months ago when he asked me what was the best style for self/home defense. Of course he rattled off the usual suspects: kung fu, tae kwon do, karate…etc

I explained to him that the "winner" of a self defense situation is the guy who dies second and home defense simply involves an expensive firearm and cheap wallpaper

I think my answer was more than what he was willing to accept 🙂

Actually loled hard at this. Loving the de-hype, Doug.

+1 hectic - hilarious . . . I just had this mental picture of Doug aiming the "expensive firearm" as he so eloquently described the scenario . . .

      Cheap wallpaper is key here…

Wing Chun is the best and effectiv self defence art!
You dont need much power…the key is timing, technic and you use the power from your enemie!
Wing Chun is not a competition fight how karate, kickboxing, boxing, take wondo...ect.
Wing Chun is destroy and killing praktic!

Jürgen Harlander-Sifu of Wan Kam Leung Kung Fu...
He is 175cm and 70kg heavy -he isnt a muscle guy...but he can break every bone in EVERYBODY in few seconds and he can kill EVERYONE in a little more time!!!

How long have you trained? as you speak like somebody who is just finished his first ever basic course in martial art. I know what wing chun is. And I'm not putting it down.
Then there is karate and karate. you obviously don't know squat about that. But enough for this peeing contest. I just rest my case.

Or start a new thread so that people who are not interested do not have to see clutter in a very popular thread.  Actually one of the mods, can you do that?

am i missing something? looks like a standard hem. just an folder foot on a straight sewer will do the trick unless you want one just for hems then you'll obviously need a leg hemmer.

let hemmer would have a free arm so you can hem with leg still the right way round [just like your union special] but on a plain sewer you will need to turn the leg inside out.

No you are not missing anything, but I do not have a folder that will do this nor do not know whether I can get one that will fit my old Singer, hence I've asked my local industrial sewing machine man to sort me out – I may need just a folder, I may need a new machine plus folder.  Either way, I do not know the answer….

if i may suggest try doing some hand folding. once you get the hang of it you would never bother using a folder again

a lady I know who used to do a lot of sewing/clothes etc. once advised me to iron the fold, then use needles in 90° angle to the stitch to avoid moving of the fold.

I sew normal hems from the inside so I can see the hem "edge" I'm supposed to sew.

                                            Dunno if this helps…
