Its a relatively small building addition (20'x20'). what youre looking at is the footings for the foundation walls and the floor of the elevator pit. the buildings main purpose i assume is the elevator it will house. the job is at Yale University's School of Sacred Music. i have no idea what they do inside that school. its a tiny school located inside a Victorian era house. Yale has a some very large facilities that weve worked on. this is a rather small one.

        Maybe so. Maybe not

Is the firm you work for contracted to Yale then?

I had a job interview with a company in Canberra on Monday. Didn't get it, though I'm not sure if it was for me either, so I'm not too disappointed. But whilst there I got a chance to take a bit of a look around.

Canberra has Lake Burley Griffin at its centre, which is named after Walter Burley Griffin, the architect who laid out the city's plan. He was part of the Prairie School, and worked in Frank Lloyd Wright's practice.

In the middle of the lake is a water fountain, similar to the Jet d'Eau in Geneva.

There's also a carillon in a brutalist looking tower on an island in the lake.

I took a brief wander through the National Gallery of Australia's sculpture garden. Didn't have time to go inside. They had a small version of Sir Andrew Gormley's gigantic Angel of the North, that sits outside Gateshead in the UK.

This is the (temporary) Old Parliament House. It was used between 1927 and 1988.

And this photo is the view you get if you rotate 180°. It's the new Parliament House. A classmate at my primary school moved out to Canberra in the early eighties, and I remember seeing photos of it. I've been curious about it ever since, as it's an odd looking building.

Lastly, here's a sculpture in the departure lounge of the airport.

As you can see, the much vaunted Australian weather looks rather English in these photos! 😃

              Empty

Now full of apples ready to go.

              Inside at the press.

Pressing the apples at 2.500 psi lots of cider running out.

Now just a trickle of cider.

This press has been in use since 1892.

Been empty now it can hold 400 bushels of apples All of this cider will become hard cider for Frecon Orchards.

Apple goes to the cows they love it.

Making me thirsty @twin ! What is the material of the white square panels in the press? Incredible that the equipment is so old yet still completely relevant and functional.

Hi @moto  The square panels are plastic. the first ones from years ago were made of wood. They wore out long ago. This press works fine. Gets a lot of use making cider for customers and Apple Butter.

Basketball is quite big in Germany and Europe in General, we have a German League and take Part in two Euro Leagues together with Spain, Russia, Israel, Turkey and Greece. Especially Turkey is really into Basketball, the 76ers very own Allen Iversion played in Istanbul one Time in his life  😃 BTW we have American Football too, at one Point even a Euro League payed as a "Promo" by the NFL.

Snow/cold can definitely suck but I actually like it because it allows me to wear the heavyweight stuff. I doubt i'd be able to wear a uhf living in the south. I'd spontaneously combust
