Testing with the new IHSH-62-WH (and the IH-634S-B).  I need to wear the vest more often…

Guys - how does one size a vest? (I've seen the vid on how to measure a vest.) On a shirt, I mostly look at shoulders (I like around 19") and P2P (I like 22"-to-23"), but vests are cut differently and I'm not sure what to look for. I'd appreciate your advice…

Knowing how you want it to fit is important. Will you wear it over a tee or a shirt? Do you want belt showing at the front and/or back? With these questions in mind, chest and length are generally the most important features.

EDIT: I have some experience in this area so if you let me know the answers to the above, I’d be happy to help.

I’d add that arm holes become an issue when layering the heavier outerwear vests.

Please note that IH’s workvests have a P2P that sits lower on the body than a tee or shirt so these can seem misleading. As an example I need 57-58cm in a UHF, 52-53cm in a close fitting tee and 51-53cm for a close fitting vest over a tee or henley.

Seeing some recent pics in the Vest Fans thread reminded me that this has been on my want/need list for far too long, so I’ve just ordered 
Slightly unsure of how this will fit so I’ve picked both L and XL - my IHV-02 IND is L and snug, whilst both my IHV-09 and IHV-16 are XL and comfortable.

@tmg  probably a good idea. Vests have to be one of the trickiest things to fit correctly. I've always liked this myself but still haven't gotten hold of it…it's a beauty.

The only thing that held me back initially was the length and concerns about shrinkage. By the time I worked out my size I’d scored the herringbone vest and a blue Indigofera vest so the need was gone. But you’re right, it would be too bad not to have had one at all…

Okay calling all vest experts!

I have zero experience with vests other than this carhartt one that I wore for a number of summers, many years ago.

In my opinion the carhartt fits a bit too snug, ideally I’d like some more room ptp but it works…

Hypothetically if I were to get one of these it would be worn with a pocket T in the summer but I’d like to be able to layer it with a light sweatshirt or flannel...

I don’t have a ‘standard’ IHSH size as the 4 IH shirts I own range from XL to XXXXL... ‍️

Anyway, based on these measurements and the fit, what would you guys recommend for size?
