Always apply copper grease to the hubs when fitting alloy wheels to a car.
Its a bastard of a job to get wheels off when corrosion has stuck them to the hubs!

      😞

^^TRUE STORY. Me and another guy once took turns hitting the tire with a sledge hammer. No dice. We had to
Lay under the jacked up car and mule kick the tire and it finally gave.. upon reflection I However did not apply grease when I put it back on…. crap. Good advice

^^In those cases, I let the weight of the vehicle do the work.

Using a mechanical jack, after you loosened all the wheel nuts, lower it slowly and the gradually increasing weight of the car will get the wheel free from the hub. Has always worked for me, FWIW.

          The journey is the objective.

Waited 10 min as said on the instruction, but the stuff was a little to chewy to be spread evenly on the uneven surface. Oh and of course I didn't have any black food color left, hence the blue.  ::)

Tied that! Even drove the car round the block with the lug nuts half hanging out. No luck.
In the end I took it to my local tyre place. They had a secret weapon, Huuuuge Russian guy with a Huuuge Rubber Mallet!  😉

Only problem was while I was there, another customer backed into my car.

@Graeme IWHWIH  🙂 i'll start looking next year. slowly see what EOY deals they have, or any newer models to expect. the more i think s1000rr, the more i'm thinking, am i missing out on anything else? R1M, Fireblade SP2 etc?

@louisbosco I suspect that the differences between the R1, Fireblade, S1000RR, etc. will be unnoticeable unless you're a hardcore track day addict. As with all these things, get what you like, rather than what wins the spec sheet battle.

If you're looking for the new hotness, Suzuki are rumoured to have a turbocharged twin in the works (along the lines of the Recursion concept), and Kawasaki are developing a supercharged triple (the SC-02 sketch is an indication of what's coming). Both machines could be really interesting.

I'd be tempted to look at the super-naked bikes instead. An S1000RR, Tuono, or MT10 will be quicker than you are, whilst being more comfortable and practical. They might not even be much slower on the track, Sean Macdonald at Cycle World found an RSV4 and Tuono were about the same speed.
