I don't know how much is costs to get Barbour to do it for you, but unless you TRULY think it sounds fun, I don't recommend it, lol
I actually got it for a steal, $30 so the cost of having it done properly will outweigh the inevitable stress

A high quality heat gun is 20-30 bucks, and is totally worth it. Much better than a hair dryer, and then surprisingly useful for other projects.

How you wax your garment makes a difference too. I used a bar of Otter wax and simply rubbed it on my jacket and then used a heat gun to melt the wax. The problem was that the wax embedded itself in every nook and cranny and even when I used the heat gun it didn't melt everything entirely, so I had gobs of wax that later congealed on the surface. Not a good look. However, I have seen tutorials where people used melted wax that they applied on the garment with a brush and then used a heat gun afterwards to good effect. Otter wax stinks to high heaven by the way.

Here's the exact method I used, and still use every year on my Trophy Reservoir Hood jacket.
- heat tin of Barbour wax is a pan of boiling water
- apply evenly to the jacket all over using a lint free cloth
- smooth out the inevitable runs and drips with hair dryer
- hang in a warm room for 24 hours
Repeat every winter for 5 or 6 years and then only minimal waxing will be required for the life of the jacket.

Weatherproofing IHM-03 Whipcord Deck Jacket!
WAX:
The N1-H Deck Jacket is lined with reprocessed wool blanket.
The interlayer is an original 1940’s US Navy issued gear feature, a cotton ‘organdy’ wax coated layer, for wind proofing.
So during wax progress, wax will not leak into the lining. But you have to take care of the temperature.The IHM-03 has an additional interlining for increased wind resistance.
Before waxing , I would ask MR. G what material specs the interlining has.
I love my Babour Jackets. But have to retreat them once a year. Otherwise little holes appear in the folds.
I would prefer Fjäll Raven Wax. It´s "lighter" and not as sticky then Babour wax. It´s a piece of beeswax, normally used for a cotton/polyester Mix.SPRAY:
Granger's XT Waterproofer or Granger's Fabsil Gold (with silicone) work well on cotton.Best for me: Nikwax Cotton Proof
Not wash it in, spray it on the wet Deck Jacket and let it dry.
Still breathable, not to see and not to smell. -

The internet never forgets.
I was pointed to this video on youtube today about leather jackets.
Other then being physicaly painful to watch, because she obviously has no clue about leather jackets, they also use a picture of me from 2010 that was posted in the filmjackets forum. It's indeed a prime example of how a cafe racer jacket should not fit.
That is because that friggin jacket turned out beeing at least a size to small (it was XL), thanks to Belstaffs all over the place sizing. I had to exale and then hold my breath to zip it up. Needless to say it was never worn outside of our backyard after taking these pictures and sold on to a smaller guy the very same day.
I'm not new to people using pictures of me on eBay to sell their jackets, but this realy pisses me off. With more then 200.000 subscribers she's most likely to make some money with that bullshit and of course that friggin picture is not flattering at all. ::)
I reported them for copyright violations and wrote them an e-mail. Let's see what happens.

That video was bad. I don't know squat about leather jackets but Ashley Weston clearly doesn't either, and she's a so-called 'celebrity stylist.' Asshole + opinion = crappy video.

But she works with lots of really great, high-end brands, like All-Saints.
But more to the point, that sucks, Cole. You didn't deserve that, since you normally look great in cafe racer leather jackets. And you're obviously uncomfortable in that pic, which makes it even worse.
It's one thing to show faces when she's talking about guys that look great, but it's pretty low to show average dudes and say, "See this guy? He dresses like shit." At the very least, she should be blurring faces.
And then of course, there are the blatant copyright violations…

I still have no reply about the usage of my picture, but I just crossread her Men's Jeans Fit Guide and noticed that under the point
"I see a lot of guys wearing jeans with stacking like the images below. You want to avoid this at all costs."
is a picture that looks remarkably like the ones that Self Edge uses, just that she was clever enough to crop the face out this time.

Her videos are simply horrible to watch. I looked that epic ''Men's Jeans Fit Guide'' up and this is the introduction:
''I see a crap-ton of guys wearing jeans that don’t fit properly. I often wonder who would date or marry these schulbs.''
This says more about her than it should (or anyone needed to know).

Her intonation (upspeak) drives me insane. I wouldn’t be able to watch enough of her videos to ever find out I’m dressing wrong, and quite honestly, I wouldn’t care what she thinks!
