Yeah that was great. I was at all Yankees home games. Those were some great games. I
Miss the old stadium. -
I loved thee Yankees tooling on Byung Hung Kim. He was untouchable that whole
Year. He couldn’t handle the Bronx. Go back and look at the games. Randy Johnson was getting strikes called a foot off the plate. Still stings damn it. -
Yeah it had nothing to do with co-MVP's Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson pitching brilliantly that series, it was the umps giving Randy Johnson strikes. Spoken like a true Yankee fan ^^^^
The part I loved was where the Dbacks won the World Series. Remember that part?
Mariano Rivera takes a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 9th of game 7, who was also untouchable that year, and the Dbacks score 2 against him to win the series with a walk off bases loaded single by Gonzo. That victory stil tastes good. I can provide video documentation to refresh your memory if need be.

I didn’t say that’s why they won. But The hirshbecks were terrible umpires. I would have played the
Middle infield back and the corners in. Gonzos fister would have been eaten up. And I said it that night while the at bat was happening. And who do you root for? -

Oh, and which team did you abandon 19 years ago?

Astros manager blows 4 run lead in the 7th ::) now a 3 game series
You must be either a Sox fan or a mets fan. There’s too much anti-Yankee coming out of you to be a fan of any other team. The manager is only a part of that equation. Credit where credit due. They batted around and hit good pitching. Whatever happens happens. I’m surprised and proud of the Yankees year.
You got me Matty,
Red Sox. It's in the DNA.

I definitely don't follow baseball in general nearly as much as I used to.

I’m only kidding anyways. I meant who did you root for before the diamondbacks franchise. Regardless, That was a very fun, memorable playoff year. It stings, but nothing stings like 2004.

Believe it or not I was a Mets fan and somewhat followed the Indians as my dad is from Ohio. For some reason as a kid when I started playing little legue I remember I had a Darryl Strawberry card and it just stuck with me. I just liked him and so the Mets became my team. Strawberry, Gooden, Dykstra, Carter, Mitchell, Mookie Wilson..lol. That era.
And yes, 01 was a very fun series. I'm not exaggerating when I say I believe it was one of the best World Series ever played. Easily in the top 5 …maybe even top 3.

I will add, just for clarification, that the University of the Incarnate Word (where this professor teaches) is located in San Antonio, 200 miles from Houston. There was no parade in San Antonio.
