fantastic boots @Dstauffer - i have loved these since they debuted.

They truly are the best boot for IH jeans I believe. Since all my IH jeans have a 8.75-9.5 Hem, a chunky boot like this is ideal.

Maybe One day a pair will slip onto my feet

This boot has become my everyday wear. I absolutely love everything about it from the last to the half sole, to the heel height. The roughout is on a level all its own. It is amazing to watch water just roll right off. Similar to a windshield after a fresh coat of rain-x.

Have not been a PO guy in the past. This boot has changed that.

Due to wear, I am noticing the boot shaft opening seems to be a little looser/saggier…Nothing major, but sometimes my jeans can catch the top and sit a bit funky...

....Anybody with any tips suggestions on how to snug that up a touch?

I think it's a pretty common issue with these "lower" shaft boots.  It happens to me, and I just think "OK, I'll do an @UnTucked now then"

I figured that was the case, still probably the best pull-on boots I've owned….

So I was trying to think outside of the box here and I actually ended up reaching out to chris at wesco and he is going to put in a top strap for me similar to what you would on engineer boots. We think this should remedy the issue fairly well.

I am sending them off next week and will post some pics once I get them back.

yeah, I guess based on the height it would be ankle….But I think its gonna turn out really well.

In the pic below you can see how the top strap really cinches up the top of the shaft.

Yeah, I am pretty excited about it. I'm sad to send my boots away as they are my everyday one, but they will also swap out the heel sole so I am getting them ready for winter.

Great build on this one G….just when I had convinced myself I was not a pull-on guy.

@Dstauffer that MOD is going to make these look kickass!  I love short shaft engineer boots, and these would make an epic hybrid. Are you removing the side pull straps in the process?  That would also "slim" the overall aesthetic of the top of the boot.

@Appfaff I am pretty sure the outside one will have to go as they will cut out part of the leather to allow for the strap to shrink the overall circumference of the top of the shaft. That is my main motivation for installing them…one of the few times I am choosing function over form in my attire

I am thinking they may look a bit weird with only one side strap, so its likely I'll just have them take both of them off. I just sent out to Chris at Wesco today so he should have them at the beginning of next week and seems to think the turn around time shouldn't be anything terribly long.

I got my hands on some brown Cats Paw heel lifts (see pic below) which match the color of the front sole really well, so I am pretty stoked about this.

I will definitely post some pics of the final product as I am thinking its gonna be pretty sick

Just got these back today and I am so happy with how they turned out. Wesco was super accommodating, polite, professional, and turned these around very quickly.

I'm really stoked to have these back and in rotation again…

Ker-boom! They look wonderful. I have to say I prefer the cat’s paw heel too. But I am a high heel kind of guy… (that came out wrong [emoji23]).
