*Are there typically taxis waiting at Portsmouth Harbour, or will I need to call one?
To come to Gosport, head onto the Gosport ferry(£4), and there are taxis from there
Don't throw the ticket away, it's a return fare… not that I've thrown mine away before ::)
I'm just seeing this… I threw it away, lol.
Paula sorted me out and showed me to the ticket booth for another. Now, I've got a prepaid ferry ride when I return with my wife!!!

My road from Kanreki started yesterday morning, when I got to LHR to check in for my 1400 nonstop flight to Charlotte. After being processed, they informed me the flight would not depart until 1925. After looking at different alternatives which all involved a flight change, and arrive in Charlotte around the late departure would, I decided to stay with the Late departure flight. Prior to departure they announced due to the late arrival of the flight, Customs would be closed in Charlotte, the plane would have to land in Boston, all go through Customs, reboard and then continue to Charlotte. Halfway into the flight it was announced that Charlotte Customs would remain open, we would fly direct to Charlotte. I immediately got up and got 2 airplane bottles of Courvoisier, added some ice and slept a bit. Landed at 2245 Charlotte time, 0345 Gosport time. After clearing customs and all I got home around midnight, meaning I was awake for 22 hours. But I'm home.

I should have mentioned that I was in the Admirals club, The American Airlines club, so the 6 hour wait wasn't all that bad. Also they told me the reason for the delay was due to pilot certification issues, and new pilots had to be flown in. Not quite sure what that meant.

It is some comfort to know I'm not the only one who has done this…
However, I did live in Gosport for six months before throwing away a ferry ticker ???
