I have a mini griptilian. I've almost never had it in my person since it's very thick and I don't like to keep it in my pocket. The blade is very good and the opening/locking mechanism is maybe the best I've used. It's about three times as thick as Chive (edit). 😞

      EDIT: Not Chive but Scallion!
EDIT EDIT: I'm obviously a bit confused. It is indeed Chive, they're very much alike… 🙂

I just noticed that this guy sells custom scales to Mini Grips (among others):
      Custom Scale Division

Vintage micarta scales on a mini griptilian. I can see the possibilities… 😃

Oh no, why did I follow the link to Custom Scale Division!!!!!

I see wooden spyderco UKPK scales in my future…

          Hey Doug…
What is your take on my idea of an IH knife collab (see ideas for Haraki thread)?
You seem to be the guy in the know for this sort of thing...

Sterling silver won't have the tension to hold a knife in your pocket. It'll bend too easily

Chris Reeve doesn't do collabs with two exceptions, and those two are very special exceptions: Harsey and G&G Hawk

That being said, I can arrange to have the IronHeart logo engraved into a Sebenza handle, but we're looking at about $450-500 for a large sebenza, $400-450 for a small, and money would have to come up front because I don't have that kind of money to float

I actually came up with the idea for a special run of IH knives a year or two ago, but Giles and I never followed through with it

I'll pitch it at Giles again and see what he thinks

That Sebenza looks great, but I think I'd have to pass on something that expensive that I couldn't use as EDC in the UK.  Good luck though, it looks smashing!

Emerson doesn't do collabs unless you order in the 100's

I haven't talked to Mick in awhile, but he generally does not do collabs either

I'm not thinking of going with a mass manufactured knife and slapping the logo of a small production run company on it

I'm thinking full, one of a kind custom, very small run (less than 25)

I'm not sure IH is about taking someone else's mass manufactured product and slapping their logo on it to keep the MSRP down…

Last I checked Sebenzas were semi mass produced

Sebenzas used to be semi custom, they had their bevels ground by hand up until a few years ago. They're currently CNC manufactured completely and hand fitted. A careful eye can see where the CNC left it's marks on the bevels

I already have someone in mind

The knife will be specific to IH, not an existing design with a logo on it.
