What are your favorite diving watches, all? I wear an Omega Seamaster, which I like fine except for the shitty deploying buckle. I like - but do not own - the Submariner in all green as well as the micro-gas tube Ball watches.

I like the Seiko diving watches. Omega also. Favourite one though is the Fifty Fathoms.

I am not strange. I'm just not normal!

While I'm nowhere near the expert @Tempvs is, there are several I like.  Starting from the bottom, pricewise, there's the Orient Mako, which I consider possibly the best budget dive watch available, and with one of the prettiest blue dials at any price.  Next up, I like the Seiko Prospex SBDC033, commonly referred to as the Sumo.  I dislike the need of Seiko fanboys to give a nickname to every watch in the company's lineup, but that's not relevant here.  What is relevant is that for a pretty reasonable price, you get a fantastic watch with legendary durability.  Plus, there's a pretty vibrant community of aftermarket modders, so you can personalize it to your heart's content.  If you like light(ish) watches, you can jump up a bit in price and get the Seiko Prospex SBDC029 (the sigh Shogun), which gives you a titanium case and bracelet.

If you're looking in a more posh price range, I love almost everything about the Omega Planet Ocean, especially the models with orange.  The more orange, the better, in fact.  Always disliked that HRV pustule on the left side of the case, though.  And though it's sadly lacking in lume for a "dive" watch, I've always liked the Breitling Superocean Heritage II, especially with the blue dial and mesh bracelet.

Oh, and if I were to buy something quirkly, I'd probably go for the Pita Oceana.  It just amuses me.

If you want a quirky diver's watch, I like the Cartier version in blue. The dial is absolutely gorgeous. Photo stolen from aBlogToWatch's hands on.

What really amuses me is that it's not as overtly macho as the usual suspects, but is a full ISO 6425 rated diving watch.

Money no object? Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe , or the new Mil-Spec model.

What actually is the definition of a divers watch?  Because I dive a lot and always use this…..

on my left wrist and this on my right wrist….

@Giles What indeed… I use my Casio for any water related antics, £14.99 well spent I recon. But love the other one more in all it's 'wabi' glory, £200 35+ years ago from bloke in Antiquarius, one service at Rolex in that time (I know) and going strong, touch wood…

To be perfectly honest, a dive computer is all one needs when diving. Furthermore, a dive boat is a high risk environment for a nice watch, as it's full of very hard stainless bits. So this is more a personal statement thing than anything else.

As a side note, no one does watch and jewelry design like Cartier. The most beautiful watch ever made IMHO is the Cartier Tank Americaine.

The new version in titanium is surprisingly light, and it's got the trick antimagnetic movement.

These watches are fantastic. So much lighter than the steel ones.
I personally like the grey and orange.

Equus Leather do some really nice watch straps, but they're hand stitched, and consequently £150. However, there are occasionally discount codes on their Facebook page.

Whilst they don't offer a dark brown rough out, their polo suede belts are available in that colour, so they might be able to build a bespoke strap in it for you.

Thanks for that @Graeme. The colour is actually a light beige/sand. Not the best photo. You see the colour better at the start of this video…

Equus do a tobacco suede that's a bit lighter, but I don't think that it's the exact hue you're looking for.

I'd look for someone doing custom natural Chromexcel straps, and ask them to make one that uses the rough out side of the leather. The reverse side on this NATO by Crown & Buckle looks like it might be a decent approximation.
