Studio D'Artisan has had a couple of nice new models come out in the past month or so that greatly interest me:

D1507- Natural indigo 17 oz. unsanforized denim, the same used in last year's SP-013 30th Anniversary model. Cut is based on the '66. Exposed back pocket rivets, triple-stitched yoke and back, black jacquard yoke lining, half-lined rear pockets, and rear pocket reinforcement.

X's-31- 21 oz. unsanforized denim with indigo warp and black sulfur dyed weft. Cut is based on SD-103. Hidden back pocket rivets, zip fly, triple-stitched yoke and back, half-lined rear pockets, hair-on-hide pigskin patch.

Gotta love that high contrast stitching, similar to the early 1930 Lees, very nice, thanks for posting that!

Yeah, they're not talked about a lot in the US among the major high end Japanese denim brands, but they've put out some of the coolest limited edition models (i.e. XXX-28, SP-013) in the past few years that I've seen, all kinda under the radar from the US.

Yeah - I'd go with the Buster as well, despite the pigs on the SDA's tag… And that's saying a LOT…

                            Aha!

I just saw on page 147 of the Denim and Work Style issue of Lightning that Pure Blue Japan was offering the following models:

                            24-005 24oz indigo
                            24-010 24oz purple face
                            24-007 24oz deep indigo

priced between Yen 31,500 and Yen 34,650.

I searched the web but could not find these anywhere, so I guess they're not out yet. But these are definitely going to be coming my way (well, maybe not the purple face). The fabric on the XX-07 deep indigo is something else.

                            I was able to contact:

                            1. BIG's Gordon (great guy, btw) = he said they would be ready end of January
                            2. Pure Blue Japan and they told me the jeans were currently being manufactured and would be ready in February,
                            3. Aikidou, a Japanese store distributed by rakuten who sold me the pair of Evisu x Sugar Canes, and who said early March

                            So lets just say 1Q11!

I've spent the whole of 2011 trying to find new brands in amazing quality that FIT

I've single handedly kept the Royal Mail in business returning jeans all over the globe and the only thing that got lost was the one I didn't insure!!!
So I got a book of stamps as compensation!

I think I've ordered a pair from every single jeans maker on the planet (spent a fortune on my cards) and I'm nearly through for this year - 2 more to try and if they fit - hurrah!champagne all round - if not, I'll give up until 2012…..which is just a few hospital visits away now.

Actually of course I follow all the collections so I already know what I'll be chasing next year....2011 started badly, first pair returned in January (had been ordered previous December from US, and that set the pattern for the year.

Praying that next year I'll find a great Jap brand that makes serious jeans for 43 year olds that look 14 and can fit into age 8!!!

If the last 2 pairs fit then my sole activity of jeans chasing during 2011 has been worth it despite the stress.

DC4 has some PBJ 24oz. I guess it is the 005 that I tried.
They may not be on site yet, but you can try and contact Daniel for further info…
