Thanks for the support

they have found another customer who they believe they can extract more money from.
Do you think they saw all my recent IH purchases?
-
I would give them hell make them sort it and then go somewhere else as i wouldn't want to give them my money after that!
-
I would, but it's not that easy finding a Location that you a) like and b) can afford in a big City for a summer wedding. After all it's been 7 months since we agreed on everything. I don't think we'll have plenty of Locations to choose from, besides we organised everything around that date already.
But I'm still positive they'll have to stick to the confirmed date.
Go make their life hell…...
Will do.

That was pretty much what we did with the hotel booking for my wedding. We were going to have a block booking for 40 guests, plus a party after the reception. They were poor and disorganised and didn't seem to care. We were neglected and our guests did not recieve the information, prices or service we had agreed upon with the hotel. We gave them a bollicking, got them to organise their shit then found a hotel who could manage out requests properly and booked with them instead.

@Max:
Found out that the Location where we want to hold our wedding booked the same day twice. We had a final Reservation since April and now they tell us that they gave the date to someone else. Trying to fix it right now, but we're pretty devestated right now.
Max, do go to a lawyer! I'm serious. The cost will have to be born by the other side, and this way you can be sure that nothing will be overlooked, and no tricks can be (mis)used to duck out. Don't just pick any lawyer from the yellow pages, ask around for a recommendation. You will want a person with a really good track record in contract law and "Leistungsstörungen".
Alone the fact that the next correspondence in this matter comes with the letterhead of an attorney will not fail to make an impression.
Wish you good luck. -
Thanks to all of you, will take that into consideration

basics of contract. offer and acceptance. they've made you the offer, you accepted. but they've failed to uphold their part of the contract. that is a breach. i'm not sure what law germany follows, but that's common law for ya. hope everything goes well.

Hope it all gets sorted!

While it could be a matter for lawyers and court: you don't really want to force someone to hold your wedding party by law, also we don't have the money nor time to do it.
Anyway, I rattled their cages and we might end up with a good solution: we can have the day before our original date, get 30% discount (which is a lot) and they will also get us a new photographer that is on par (or better) with the one we choose (but would be way more expensive, they pay the difference). We'll have to think about it, it changes the game as it's a friday but not saturday but the deal is pretty good IMO and saves us the hassle of finding a new location - which we tried yesterday but without success.
No I hope we can fix it all before the holidays.
Thanks for the support guys.

Or for extra Whisky…
Anyway, if we can sort it out like that I'm super happy. I thought I'd spent my Christmas Holiday begging Locations to give us their space on probably one of the most sought after saturdays of the year.

Third fourteen hour day on the trot and The client I am having to spend today with is one of the thickest c*nts I have ever met.
The desire to smash my face repeatedly through my keyboard is at an all time high.

Having a bit of experience in wedding venue hunting I think you can continue to give them hell. In all reality the 30% 'discount' they gave you probably isn't much of a legitimate discount as Friday's/Sunday's are typically much cheaper to host a wedding than Saturday's because of high demand. If you happen to have any correspondence from them prior to you guys solidifying the Saturday date you might check and see if they gave you a Friday quote.
Really sorry you guys have to deal with that. Weddings are stressful enough as it is.
