It really is a great beer… I just had a one year old Orval though... Probably need to age some Bruxellensis and see how that fares...

Picked up a couple Pirate Bombs tonight and a Prairie 4th anniversary.
Won't be able to drink it until I'm back in town, going to Chicago for a few days.
Anyone got beer recommendations for the Windy City?

              That is an excellent one.

And you haven't had it… Cause that is the second edition... 6.4% instead of 7. Supposedly a bit more full bodied. Haven't tried them next to one another though...

Also, I said the Mikkeller x Boon "Bone Dry" collab was exactly the same as the Black Label (and thus a rip off, as the collab costs more than twice as much as the Black Label), but apparently there is a difference, albeit a small one…

The initial idea for a drier oude geuze came about when the Mikkeller brewery approached Boon for a collaboration blend. As the foeders containing the lambics that would eventually become Bone Dry would not be completely emptied, the Black Label was born.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label shares a similar profile to the Mikkeler and Boon Bone Dry collaboration as they were blended from the same lambic from the same foeders but in different proportions. In correspondence, the brewery noted that Black Label should be more full-bodied and slightly less dry and that there is less old lambic in the Black Label than the Bone Dry.

Initial U.S. labelings of Boon Black label note a blend of 1- and 2-year old lambics. This has been acknowledged as a mistake on the labels as it is a blend of 1-, 2-, and 3-year old lambics (as noted on the European label).

DryHop Brewers, Cruz Blanca Cervecería, and Forbidden Root are all great spots for food and brews…

@Seul about 13 USD. Worth it though.

Opposite ends of the spectrum , but both were really sweet without being over bearing. The doughnut break actually managed to taste like fried dough, in a great way.
