      @Appfaff, since you were looking for an IHAL-01, keep in mind that the IH sizes are lower than the Alexander / Simmons Bilt sizes to maintain consistency. So, an XL IHAL-01 would correspond to a Simmons Bilt 44 rather than a 42. ( @Giles, am I understanding that correctly?)

        You are, but in all probability I think I'll be sorting @Appfaff out with a custom jacket, so sizing will be bespoke…..

            @Appfaff:

            Ok. Finally decided my next big purchase will be a SB leather jacket and wanted to get some of your thoughts on the different leather options.

            Options I am looking at:  Burgundy Hoween Warhawk FQHH / Shinki Chocolate / Horween Chromexel Steerhide Brown

            I love the Burgundy and the fact that it will essentially match everything, however, not sure I should go a more classic route and get a brown or chocolate offering. I know Black is out contention because I simply would not wear it as much.

            Thoughts on those you you that have any of these offerings in a SB jacket?

            Thanks!

            Mine is the chromexcel steerhide. This is the first real leather jacket I've owned, so this is the only leather that I have any experience with. It's a beautiful leather no doubt, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Just know that it is very heavy and fairly stiff although not as stiff as the horsehide from what I hear. It does seem like it will break in in a reasonable amount of time. Regardless, a slim fitting jacket in this leather may not be for everyone, so it may depend on the cut. That Clayton horsehide sure looks nice for a lighter option.

                          I had a prolapsed disc once. It was f**king excruciating! Physio and acupuncture helped a lot

                              Apologies for the delay on these. Back is much better now thanks… was most probably a spasm but i'm banned from lifting heavy boxes for the time being. (my only form of exercise) Thanks for the well wishes @Cutlasshound

                              Here is my SB jacket, it wasn't made for me but it was close enough. I do love it and it got a good beating back when i was riding a lot. It's been used in all weather too… mostly rain.

                                        Clayton Vintage veg tanned horsehide 'classic biker' jacket. Burgundy military viscose twill lining.

                                        Picked this up from the outlet of the SB website. Very pleased with it.  The leather is very nice indeed. Looks black in some lights and brown in others.
