Yesterday:

Local brewery (actually in my town) made a DIPA. Pretty good. I try to support them despite being a bit snotty about most of what they produce.

Followed by this vision of loveliness (which my wife tried to ruin by photobombing)…

Then finished the evening of with Nøgne's standard impy stout. Quality as always.

Starting of with this:

Probably the most complex DIPA I've ever tasted. It has everything, citrus, biscuit, toffee, malt and a nice boozy twist at the end. Unbelievably it's all kept under control so that nothing gets out of hand or lost in the mix. So well balanced.

Given how rarely I see these I'd also struggle to cellar them any amount of time. I still re-call fondly those weeks when I had a bottle to look forward to on the weekend, thanks to you, Aetas. Sometimes I wonder if it was worth the ridiculous taxes. It wasn't far off [emoji23]
