A couple notes on this denim:

There was ZERO indigo leak during/ after a 45 minute warm soak; the water was completely clear. (I'm curious as to why that is; I haven't seen that before).

The denim was so stiff after soak that they stood up on their own (with 1 finger to balance them).

Notwithstanding (2), they stretched over an inch in waist and softened considerably after only 1 wear.

@Giles Yes. I got 1" in length and 1.5" in waist from a 45 minute warm soak and drip dry. The waist stretched to preshrink after 1 wear.

Nice fit. Nice gym. The combs are going to be off the chain if you refrain from washing too soon.

Just soaked my tagged 36 and here are some observations, I did a warm-hot soak for 1 hr to encourage shrinkage. My usual size of 34 was too small on this denim so I sized up.

No indigo in the soaking water, but plenty dripping down as it air dried. Also noted some discoloration in the water by what I assume to be starch

Definitely stiff after soak, able to stand up on its own

Shrinkage: Waist by 1.5 inches, back rise by 0.2, inseam around 1 inch

any updates on these from the guys who have been putting some miles on them? how are they fading? are they stretching much more after prolonged wear? Are they softening up nice?

I feel that the waist has stretched a decent deal, or I'm losing weight. Stretching everywhere else is pretty minimal. I'll have to get some decent pictures with the minimal fading I've been getting thus far. I noticed some decent vertical fading when I was in direct sunlight in traffic today.
These don't seem to want to fade, but I still notice indigo transfer when I wash my hands.All in all, I really like them.

If I needed a pair of denim, these would be it. Great fit, looks like very promising denim and that leather patch, LOVE IT!

@tailoredfamcam I haven't put many miles on mine. Right now, they are my "nice jeans." I put them on when I am going out or trying to look nice. They are still hairy. My 634S are still my mains. I will be sure to put up some more pics once I get some wear in them. But it'll probably be at least a year.

So, I'm in the IH club now, finally. I've spent about a year on the IH site going from style to style trying to decided which is best. Luckily, the 634B&S RAW came along which fits my needs perfectly.
I took some pictures pre-soak which I'll put up, then soaked them in a tub of hot water for an hour agitating them periodically. The denim bled a decent amount which required me to scrub the tub (or incur the wrath of my wife). I hung them up for a few hours then became impatient and directed a fan towards them to speed the process. They stood on their own as you'll see in the pictures.
The waist shrunk about an inch and has stretched back out quickly. The thighs shrunk around 0.5 inches and I lost around an inch and a half on the inseam.
Overall, after the soak, they stretched out quickly to my figure and softened to some extent.

The barefoot pictures are presoak with a double fold on the pant legs. The pictures with the boots are with a small single fold post-soak after about four hours of wear around the house.
There is a very small amount of leg twist but a casual observer would just think it is the way the pants fall.
