      @Broark:

Well I have my plans for the weekend lined up. Jester King is hosting a Wicked Weed Texas release party so I'll be grabbing all these beers:
They're also releasing another collaboration that sounds interesting, a Grisette style beer brewed with loquats: http://jesterkingbrewery.com/introducing-jester-king-green-bench-brewing-co-beachtimez-sportzketball

Very jealous.  Wicked Weed is a great brewery.  I'm very happy that they're finally coming to Texas.

Lotsa Brett. 11%. Foams like mad. One dimensional and a tad boring.

          A few recent purchases-

This was good; a bit of sourness, but not overwhelming, nice flavor.

This was meh.  Not much mango flavor, not much flavor of any kind, actually.

I liked this one a lot.  Light, but interesting, flavor from the hibiscus.  A bit of tartness, just a nice beer.  Too bad I didn't grab a couple more bottles when I had the chance.

Drank this last night, I would love to find some more Speedway Stout variants along the way.
Very pleased with this stout, everything I've had from Alesmith so far has been great.

And here's my haul from Jester King today.
Left to right: WW Oblivion, WW Marina, WW La Bonté with plum, WW/JK Parking Lot (x2), JK x Green Bench Beachtimez Sportsketball (x2), Ranger Creek imperial strawberry milk stout with coconut and vanilla.

Let me know how this is… It sounds absolutely awful, and it's only 7.5%, but I'm intruiged  😃

I had to try it because the normal strawberry milk stout is surprisingly good.
I remember before I tried it I thought it was going to be terrible, but it's not too overly sweet.
I'll report back on the imperial version!

Also when I was at the brewery today I saw an Italian brewery called Le Baladin.
My interested was piqued when I saw the Beeradvocate rankings for Lune and Terre which Jester King had for sale.
Then immediately I saw the price tag: $42 dollars!!!
Am I crazy for thinking that this is an insane price for beer? Or is it really that good?

In my experience, Ranger Creek does a good job of taking ingredients that sound like they'd be terrible together and turning the mess into quality beer.  I'll try basically anything they put out.

And $42 is really high, imo.  I've had really fantastic beer for a lot less.  That better be mind blowing.

I agree on Ranger Creek, I don't think I've had an outright bad beer from them.

That was my thinking too, I scoff at what Cascade goes for down here (28 bucks a bottle…) and I thought it was a typo at 42 dollars for 50 cl of barley wine...

$330 bucks is a bit rich for my blood. Would really take some kind of event for me to buy that!

                            Here's what I drank tonight.
First up was Adelbert's Barrel Aged Trifecta 2016 edition. A blend of three of their beers: gin barrel aged saison, another barrel fermented saison and a spontaneously fermented barrel aged wit. I'd love to find a bottle of this…

Then after I got home I decided to open one of the Wicked Weed / Jester King Parking Lots. Great beer, slightly funky and somewhat sour. I might be going out to the brewery again tomorrow to get some more of these!

Jester King and Green Bench Brewing Beachtimez Sportzketball.
Grisette inspired farmhouse ale refermented with loquats. Ideal summer beer for me.

                                  Live Oak Big Bark.
Always good, had to try out the canned version. Hoping Live Oak continues to can more of their beers.

                                  Goose Island Juliette.
Really impressed with this, tart and sour without being too sweet. I'll have to try the other variants.

I think the Juliet was around 18-20 dollars, but I took advantage of the Central Market beer week and got it last night along with a sixer of Big Bark. Came out to 27 dollars in total!

This was so hilariously bad. Everything that's wrong with a lot of newer  ipa/dipa. Over hopped, dry hopped, wet hopped, and 1293 different types of hop does not make for a "hop explosion" it makes for a nasty hop smell in your sink after you ditch the stuff for tasting shite.
