The Germans will probably get it again or at least get very close

I wish I shared your positivity when it comes to England's chances but I think the semis is the best we can expect. Our defence will let us down against the better sides.

I reckon the Italians will take it, beating the French in the final.

it's been 14 years since the 2002 world cup that the had a decent squad and a fair go at the cup. unless joe hart gets chipped like seaman did, i don't see why not. that said, the french and italians have quite some chance. conte's tactical plans are intriguing, and well being the host for france is huge motivation

Italy convinced me the most yet…but it was only 1 game and a lot can still happen.

Put a tenner on Italy before the tournament and so far nothing has changed my mind.

England are too poor in defence, as are France.

Germany are too poor in attack and Spain will struggle against the first team who press the ball rather than sit back and marvel at their passing.

Those are my predictions and I'm sticking with them  🙂

I agree with Mega re: Spain. Teams just sit deep and invite pressure. (Russia's equaliser against England springs to mind). As soon as Spain come up against a team who will press them in mid-field I think they'll get found out.

I think England can do well if Hodgson grows a pair and keeps an attacking mentality. (Send $terling home, start with Vardy/Sturridge or Kane up top. (To be fair, Kane has played a lot of football over the last 18 months & he looks a bit tired. Give him a rest Roy, but make sure he's on the subs list). The rest of the team I'm quite happy with.

Italy look a bit tasty. Portugal look average. France can implode in a heartbeat. There will be one or two "minnows" that may cause an upset.
