My 32" is TTS, thats why I need a 33" because they dont stretch like denim

^ Good to know, I'm also a W36 in jeans, but I would guess I'd need a 37 or 38 in these to account for the lack of stretch. I'd never heard of them before this thread, but as summer's approaching I'm in need of some new shorts and these look perfect….only downside is the damn customs charge to get them into the UK [emoji21]

their sizing has changed as of late.  so if you go on ebay looking at vintage or used pairs keep that in mind.  it used to be that you would need to order up 2" from your normal waist size.  I was normally a true 32 so i would have to order a 34.  not sure why they changed it since they'd been doing it that way for decades but now you can just order your true waist size.  it's alot easier.

@Max Power  That is definitely a 311 that @JCMx800 is wearing.

if i were to give one critique of the newer updated trunks it would be that they replaced the velcro fly with buttons.  i could see them getting torn or rubbed off after surfing in them for a while.

@Giles how accurate is the sizing on these? I'm considering buying some but don't want the cost/hassle of returning if I get the fit wrong, so would ordering my IH size (36) be the right approach?

I'm typically IH tag 33.  I ordered 34.  2 pairs are perfect, one pair is too small….So variable....
