Kapital are responsible for bringing sashiko into the commercial spotlight with their 'Century Denim', it's their signature denim.

I think most would agree that Haraki-san has already immortalized himself/ Iron Heart with his 21oz denim.

            • No!
A different garment. Not sashiko imitation by Kapital. Perfection is already exist. Name of it: double weave Sei Aizome. From KuSakura workshop. Can we get it? Thick. The heaviest. As I understand there are a very few crafters who are capable of weaving a high quality Sashiko heavy double weave fabric. The one which is used for the heaviest type of Kendogi.
The IH sashiko jacket as I see it: Simple classic pea coat may be with a bow to Kendogi design. Entirely tailored in Sashiko (rice grain weaving) on the upper part, and the Hishisashi (diamond weaving) on the lower part. Twill collar. No fancy pattern. The simplest, the plain version that succeeded for the manufacture of Kendogi because of its great strength. And of course, Aizome dyeing.

This jacket will last forever. Forever I mean. And my son will inherit it.

If we do another Pea Coat it is likely to be a boring old ultra heavy Melton.  But I can put you in touch with a brand who may want to do that.  I know they are doing some crazy stuff with Sashiko…...

                Thank you, Giles.
I'll really appreciate if you PM contacts or point out the direction… Actually I am already fully determined to go  bespoke if I succeed to source the fabric from Seido or from the loom. Need to get home first. In a few weeks...

Would it be any way possible to get the IHSH-62-ind fabric WITHOUT the discharge printed dots? THAT would make for some amazing shirts and pants!!! Also, this fabric would be so awesome in a HEAVY version

I'd actually assumed that the double indigo offerings from the fall/winter were what UnTucked describes here.

If you look at the Wabash fabric, it has 2 distinctively different textures on the warp an went sides… I don't know what it is, but it's SURELY not a denim, duck, or typical twill (According to my ammature knowledge, lol)

I've got the 62 and 68. I think it is a denim twill of some sort although I know what you mean about the unique hand on the face and reverse. The way they wear is unique too.

Looking through the latest GQ, I came across this pic and realized how awesome this jacket would be, minus the OVO patch, and gaudy sleeve patch…..

Letterman with a suede body in lieu of wool, and leather sleeves. Simmons Bilt would KILL this!!!
