How well doe these breathe? Suitable for summer weather possibly?
Also, like asked by another, possible to get leg opening at a 33.5" hem on a 36? Thanks
-
Do the math, it's easy.
Total length from knee to cuff, divided by taper from knee to cuff.Taper from knee to cuff, divided by the total length from knee to cuff. Gives you taper per inch. Multiply that by number of inches you are removing from the length and you have the total to add onto published cuff size.Fixed that for you G.
I've done the calculation on a pair of jeans here, & it works. However, to be able to do the calculation, one must be given the value, (length), from knee to cuff to start with.Edit: Would it be worth putting the knee-to-cuff measurement in the sizing chart? Then folk can do their own calculations. It appears that asking for the cuff width at a certain length is quite a common request.

It's "maths" (not "math") in UK English!
@Seul tag 32 at 33" inseam LO = approx 7.9"
@Jordonf9 tag 36 at 33.5" inseam LO = approx 8.7"
@Sage954 it's really difficult to compare the weights, they feel about the same but maybe the 716 slightly heavier. The weight of a pair of 707 tag 32 is .692 kg and pair of 716 tag 32 is .606 kg but the legs on the 707 are far less tapered so these contain a lot more fabric. The 716 chino fabric is soft, matte and I would think slightly more "breathable" than the 707 fabric which has a sheen and is more tightly woven.

Thanks.
You have that information. The knee is measured at 13" from the crotch, so the length from knee to cuff is inseam length less 13"

Copped a pair of 36 hemmed to 34.5"
-
Sadly Sam measure the 36 and they are 37" waist
Oh well

@Jordonf9 - I heard a lot of people got a good amount of shrink out of the 711 chino, and my 707 shrink everytime I wash+dry. Might be work giving them a shot! The good thing about chinos, is that a local tailor can very easily take in the waist and seat for you.

Well, I couldn't let these go. So I re-ordered but without hem. Worst comes to worst, a return will be in order. Can't wait!
-
Will this stretch a bit? I am between sizes 36-38 per the waist measurement. Don't know which will work best. Any experienced voices.

Sam sent me measurements of 37" on the 36 on the two pair he had last time. If that helps.
-
That does. Thanks jordan!

@HeavyGenes I will have my pair tomorrow. I normally wear 36 sometimes 34 in IH denim…I can measure them for you if that helps, if you already didn't snag a pair. I can wear down to a 34.5" waist up to 36" normally. With 37", will be a little big, but they are comfy and not rigged so I figure when the belt is strapped down they won't hurt.
I will also try a very hot soak to see what shrinkage I could get. Got a pair of 36 inbound. -
@Jordonf9 I saw only 1 36 left so I had to jump on it. I'm praying it'll work. But thanks for offering to measure. The chinos look great. I want the shirt too but will have to wait for my employer to refill my disposable income. Hope you post some fit pics.
