Have a lovely time in Helsinki, I am envious - I have never been to Finland!  Look forward to seeing some pics of your weekend adventure.

We had a cold but lovely day in Helsinki!

        Here is the harbor…

There were 2 giant-ass ocean liners at bay.

Mrs. Foxy had a great time…

        …and me, too.

We had coffee, tee and cake at Ekberg (with a lot of lovely grannies - not Mrs. Foxy!)…

And in the evening we had G&T's with some great Finnish gins (Helsinki Gin and Napue Gin)…

…and for dinner we had some great Italian dishes with a big bottle of Rhino wine!

Too right!  I wish someone would "adopt" me and take me to all these wonderful places (but I suppose nobody - even the most frequent traveller - has that much baggage allowance!)

Have fun, Ted - the weather and eateries of Helsinki look fantastic and thanks @FOXY and Mrs Foxy for taking such good care of our furry friend.

Today we did visit a couple of museums (modern art, Finnish design, Finnish architecture) - mostly weird stuff!

In between we had coffee and cake, which was great!

Now, we are sitting at the airport and wait for our plane back to Moscow.

For dinner we had soup & curry - Yum!

Finally, I get to rework & update the travel log!

As mentioned before, we flew from Moscow to Berlin for a little road trip. Mrs Foxy took her little yellow car in the morning and only a few hours later we had reached the Bavarian Alps…

                      We were heading for Schwangau…

…because this is were Neuschwanstein is and were every Japanese tourist needs to go!

You can see it in the background if you look closely…

In Schwangau there is also the old castle.

                      And a lake…

I got a Neuschwanstein pin! (I guess this is hard currency at home in Japan…)

Then we headed on deeper into the Bavarian Alps…

Until we reached Bad Hindelang - where we had a beer, dinner and a bed for the night!

                            Yes, that's true!

                            I finally managed to re-do the previous 2 posts…

The next morning we crossed the border and drove through Austria to Italy and reached Lago di Garda.

                            We didn't stay long…

…and reached Portovenere (a small Ligurian costal village) for dinner.

Portovenere is supposedly quite nice if it wasn't for the weather - but that's what you get in February…

There was a little church on a cliff at the end of the town…

From Portovenere we drove along the Ligurian coastline…La Spezia with battleships in the habour.

And further up the coastal road…

                                On the road again…

                                A quick stop in Portofino…

..before we reached Camogli for dinner.

The next morning, the view from the window…

Camogli and its seafront is indeed a lovely little costal village being not far away from Genoa, our next stop.

One of the reasons to head for Genoa on this particular day was to meet with Mr Volvo, who took of part of his afternoon off.
Here he can be seen right in front of the church (on the left) next to Mrs Foxy.

Mr Volvo send me a picture in the morning of a cedro lemon from his father's garden…

This very lemon ended up being a present from Mr Volvo.

Genoa ended up being very nice experience, if not thanks to Mr Volvo for showing us the many corners of the old city.

The next day we drove the car through Switzerland to Colmar, France…
