Thanks for the positive comments guys, and glad you like them. As to the crepe soles, I realise that they're not everyone's favourite but I personally don't mind them. To me, they give the boots more of a casual look. As others have noted, the construction on these RMC boots is amazing. What the pictures don't show is how comfortable the boots are as well. Out of the box, these are some of the most comfortable boots I've ever tried.

I'm surprised as this type of sole is surely a modern invention as opposed to the RMC style of reproduction.

It seems that "wedge sole" is a common term to describe this type of sole. I'm certainly no expert, but Red Wing have apparently been using this type of sole since at least the 1950's. See:

The soles on these boots are not made by Vibram but by the RMC themselves.

I always think of a 'crepe sole' as being the layered translucent rubber types popularised by Clarks.

However, that vest!!! I don't think you could get a better fit if they made it specifically for you!! it's a killer, well done sir

I think I read it on another forum but basically they're searching for a new physical store location for the RMC store in New York City, so the website is shut down temporarily.

My guy says RMC has scaled faster than their QA can handle. Totally unfounded but seems to be a few more isolated instances popping up than previously seen..

Gotta say, I've never had any QA issues with RMC ever and I've probably got about 12-15 of their items, many of which are $1000+ retail. Hoping that these aren't anything other than isolated incidents.

Hmmm…a few months back, I was at RMC Tokyo store trying to buy the N1 boots but the tone of left and right boots were different. They then requested another pair from Kobe HQ, twice cos the 2nd pair also didn't match. I went back twice! All 3 pairs didn't match. But a size smaller is fine.

The Real McCoys (jp) has the worst web store ever. Love the gear but the site is like a jerry Bruckheimer production, too much flash.
