@Broark I really liked the completely unstructured version of the Ropers that Viberg sampled a few years back. 😘

@Graeme those look much more cowboy-ish!
I'm really not sure if I like the new ones entirely, they give off an Ugg vibe.
But at the same time I also like the profile and overall shape of the boot.

I think that a pair that sat somewhere between the Superdenim Uggs and the deer skin cowboys could be quite interesting. Of course, nobody else will get where I'm coming from with them. 🙂

I agree! I would like to see a pair of the rough out Ropers on someone, that would give me more of a perspective.

I applaud Viberg for being creative and pushing into new territory (for them) but I'm not necessarily being pulled along.  I'm trying to keep an open mind.

I'm of a similar mind- I can understand them trying new things and working to expand their customer base, but I lost interest a long time ago.  I love my Viberg boots, but I doubt I'll be buying another pair.

FINALLY dropped my babies of at the cobbler's… He's gonna refurbish the Vibram sole, then add a thin black rubber sole... He said those are "indestructible", so it won't wear down the Vibram sole... I reckon it'll give me lotsa grip, and in the long end I'll only have to have the thin black rubber sole re-newed now and then...

He loved them btw... Picked 'm up.. "These are heavy!.. Good product!.."  😉

Ok... Now commencing the firm clenching of the bottoms til I can pick 'm up on Friday...  😎

Oh: he once refurbished a sole on a pair of 25 year old Trickers I bought (the Veldtschoen model if anyone remembers), and he did such a stellar fucking job… So I am confident it'll work out...

                    goes back to Clench Mode

Hey guys, I'm interested in some Viberg service boots in the 2030 last, I've got a few questions:

                          • I wear 11.5 in shoes like Vans, Converse, and PF Flyers. Am I correct that I'd want a 10.5 in these?
                          • I've read some stuff (I think on StyleForum) saying that the Service Boot looks weird in sizes larger than 9.5 or so, and I've seen a few examples that look "off". Does anyone here have a pair of 2030 Service Boots somewhere around 10.5, that could give me a good idea how they look?
                          • What are alternatives I should consider? I want a slim profile boot with a cap toe and Dainite sole, somewhere between a more rugged style and a dressier style, which will look good with slim fitting jeans. I LOVE the look of the RRL Livingston boot, which nails what I'm looking for, but at $990, they're way overpriced. I'd be open to something like the Red Wing Beckman, but I don't mind paying right around the Viberg price range.

hey there buddy @Cold Summer …i wear a US 9/9.5 in Converse (regular and 70´s) and a US 10 in Vans and a "stamped" size 9 in all of my vibergs. i have pairs on the 160, 240, 310, 2030, 2045 last and all are in the same size.

so imo you should be good with one size down...no worries 😉

I wear size 11 in most athletic shoes and my Viberg 2030 last service boots are size 10 and fit beautifully.  I wouldn't say they look weird in larger sizes, but judge yourself- just posted a pic a couple of days ago.

There are a few shots of size 10 2030's in my album here (coffee chromepack and black cxl): http://imgur.com/a/6szmv . Not quite the size you were hoping to see, but may be useful anyways.

The only time I think they can look a little off is if they're worn with jeans with a larger leg opening.

I don't think that larger sizes look weird. I can't fit a 2030, but am 12US in most athletic shoes and a 10.5 in Viberg 110 and 2045.  If you want a 2030, the natural chromepaks dropping today on Viberg.com are pretty sweet.  I find it truly ridiculous how many consecutive releases are on the 2030 (which is far too narrow for many feet).  Still, nice options for those who can fit them.

^ I swear they take a last & run it to death & then move on to the next one & do the same.

@Cold Summer I've seen one or two big footed brethren with Vibergs & they never look weird too me.

                                    I say go for it

                                    head high, middle finger higher

Not cheap (50€) but solid job. More grip, no more wearing down the Vibram sole, adding durability.
