Always wanted to try a pair of these….afraid they'll be too big in the leg. Truly believe these would be a freedom of movement pair work pants.

^ haddtoo - my brother has the 55-UHR and I would say the fit, if you play with the sizing, can create a very nice, not baggy shape.  His are fairly fitted for a 55 cut and have a great taper for boots, which also looks great with sneakers and (surprisingly) loafers/Mocs

I believe the higher rose gives the wearer some "play" with the waist measure.

                    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the input. I'll have a few months to mull it over. The thigh on my 2634's is roomy ,the 55 should be close.

See I was going up sizes when I was 15. Can remember buying size 38-40 jeans and cargo pants when my proper size was
                              Probably closer to a 28-29
                              Waist. Lol

                                Hi,

I'm new to the forum and new to the fancy denim world, but the cut and specs on this model look very much like the idealized pair of jeans that my endless and as of yet fruitless quest has sent me in search of… that is, a proper natural waist (i.e. higher rise) in a comfortably slim and tapered cut. I'm sold! Unfortunately, so is my size.  😞

Will the next production run (May 2016) source the same exact fabric, weight and all? Identical cut?

Is there any way to pre-order/pre-pay/reserve sizes?

Lastly, there should be no shrinking at all with these, correct? Please forgive the novice question.

Very glad to have stumbled upon this site and I eagerly await mid-May when I can finally retire my cheapo $30 Wrangler 936's in all their ugly smurfy blue splendor!

PS: I'm currently wearing size 34's in the cheapo 936 model, with the waist measuring precisely 17.5" (per your very clear & concise instruction - Thank you!) and I'd say they fit comfortably if just a touch loose. I should be a size 32 but I'm more like a 33 these days (most chinos, flannels, etc). The next 4 months wait should give me ample time to shed a few pounds and trim down to size. That said, would the size 33's (1955S) work for me in my current shape, hypothetically? Presumably there's some stretch to the denim, right? I'd be hesitant to jump up the 34 as I prefer the slimmer thigh/knee specs, however subtle it may be. I'm 5'9" and roughly 1165-170lbs... and dropping!

                                  Hi guys, first post here…

I've been wanting to get a 'better' pair of jeans for some time.  Regular jeans last me just a couple of months before I blow out the crotch.  The rear rise is never sufficient, and the forces at play on that area of the jeans are apparently significant- the light weight denim is stretched to breaking point on the rear seam, then blows out.  Some research into top quality jeans led me here!

Luckily for me I live 10 minutes from a shop stocking Iron Heart jeans... hooray!

So I tried on a few pairs but my manly thighs and ass (6'1, 225lbs, short legs, weightlifter) meant this was the only pair they had that fit me and my muscular ass the way that I had hoped.  The 36/36 looked smashing rolled up a couple of times at the cuff.  But around the waist it did however take every ounce of my strength to do them up- I'm not carrying much of a paunch at all, I just have a large torso and wide hips.

Comments here suggest the waist will stretch out an inch with time, which is nice, and I won't be getting any fatter... but my question is, are there any other Iron Heart jeans with this wonderful fit (the room for the ass, the thighs, the great taper, the colour etc), but a more normal front rise?  I wear all bottoms just above the hips, and I'm not sure I can adapt to such a high front rise.  They'd be in my possession now despite the tightness of the waist if it wasn't for the hight of the front rise, which with my butt filling out the rear so nicely looks disproportionately high.

So, any alternatives with this fit, minus the super high front rise? Or any chance of this fit being sold with a more regular front rise?  Or do we all think I'll just get used to it?

By the way, congrats on the build quality and feel and look of all these jeans! Brilliant. A class apart even from other expensive jeans I have worn. And great to have a forum to discuss them too!

                                  Many thanks, -Rick

                                      1. No two runs of denim are never exactly the same (despite what some would have you believe).  But I suspect no-one will be able to tell.

No.  What if you do change size?  What if the May run differs a little from last run?

Thanks for the info, Giles. Might go back into the store and try the same pair on again tomorrow, see how they feel around the waist when sitting down and whatnot. So are their any similar tapered jeans you sell you'd recommend I try, considering the big thighs/ass?

Just out of curiosity… you don't think their would be a market for a pair of these jeans without the high front rise? I see you said they don't sell well enough to be considered manufacturing from 25oz fabric... maybe if the front rise was an inch, or inch and a half, lower the same cut would be a more attractive proposition? That's not in any way a criticism, just a thought.

Keep up the good work, mate.

                                            Hi Rick,

There's a million and one jeans available from virtually every manufacturer on the planet with a lower rise; you have no shortage to pick from. Allow me to be the voice of opposition and say that if the rise were lowered even an inch, as you suggested, I would have no interest in purchasing them. With all due respect, it seems less than gracious to offer advice in the way of cut and aesthetic to the designer of the article in question; let alone think that these jeans should somehow be tailored to each individual's preference. While its unique to have unfiltered access to the face behind the brand, who's been generous and enthusiastic enough to answer our questions and address concerns, lets exercise a bit of restraint. If you're looking for a lower rise, please look elsewhere or chose a different model.
