If I remember correctly, there is some kind of introduction to previous events during the beginning.. It sort of brings you up to speed.
I also haven't played the previous ones, still got (most) of the plot.

I have to admit that I played the previous two parts, plus I read all Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski, so the Witcher 3 had a lot of extra fun and reverences for me, but I think even without knowing part I and II or the books, you get a very good, entertaining story in a great setting.

I spend 116h 57min with the Witcher III and the add on Heart of Stone so far and I can hardly wait for the next add on (Blood & Wine) to continue.

If you like story driven RPGs in an adult setting you simply can not go wrong with this game.

Started playing Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain…

1. I'm a huge MGS nerd/ fan/ nerd/ nerd...
2. Must've finished MGS (PS1) two dozen times, easily...
3. Snake Eater was my fav part actually...
4. MGS IV really didn't do it for me, gave up quickly on that'un, but...
5. V is SO FUCKING GOOD... I'm about 8 hours deep and it's just BRILLIANT...

So yeah: no spoilers please, but tips and advice are welcome!.. I'm 100% into upgrading Mother Base all the time... So of course I went with getting the lvl up for the Fulton device first, now being able to extract mortar and machine guns... Also got the upgrade for the binoculars, so I can be more selective as who to extract...

(PS: the panicked bleating the goats make when you have 'm Fulton'ed... I nearly died...)

Nice! I have not finished Phantom Pain, just not feeling it.. Loved Snake Eater though.

I'm just waiting for the Division open beta which starts today on PS4.

Yeah Snake Eater is my favourite as well (after MGS I on PS1 of course)…

I haven't really played MGS4... Now thàt'un I didn't like... Might give it another shot next summer...

^ The first 3 versions are epic stuff … great entertainment for months on my PS3.

I have no PS4 - insofar sadly no Uncharted 4 for me 
.. but the previews in the respective magazines are top-notch!
