@MP I think that it's generally too hot in Melbourne for anything right now.
(For readers who aren't local, it hit 41°C / 105°F yesterday. Today is slightly cooler.)
When the R nine T came out the initial year's production run sold out immediately. I think that it was a while before you could get a demo ride in the UK. In fact, most of the shops had "don't touch" signs on the floor stock because they'd been pre-sold. It sounds like the new Bonnevilles will be the same.
Over at the Triumph Rat forums there's an amusing comment on specs:
_All the talk from the sales rep last night was " the emphasis is on lots of usable torque , not on some peak horsepower number."
Then I asked about the race kit.
In a very reverential OMG sort of tone with a huge grin he exclaimed " it's going to add 15 HORSEPOWER!!"
I wanted to say, "But you just told us that we don't want horsepower any more, it's the old bad way."
Unless you're selling it as an add on I guess._
I think that the lack of details on the bikes has been a very deliberate marketing move by Triumph in order to hide what might be perceived as a deficiency on paper. The new Thruxton will probably be a fantastic bike, I'm just a bit loathe to put my money down until I know what I'm getting, and what it'll cost me.
The trouble is waiting means I could well miss out on a bike this year, and I don't have any transport. Getting out of Melbourne isn't that easy without a car.

well i sold the 1150 gs today so i am left with only bike but fear not the search has begun for a triumph scrambler (carb version ) so as shaw taylor would say "keep em peeled and i shall be back soon with another bike making 55/or 56 so far to be honest i have lost count "

Beautifully warm day here in north side of Houston. Took my brothers bike out for a stretch through the country.

There have been some parallels bettween my Iron Heart collecting and my motorcycle collecting. I need to sort out my favorites and thin the heard. I just have an easy time saying yes and a hard time letting go.
The FXR is my baby and might be the first to go since it will be the hardest cut. Or I just follow my plan and keep her forever! The shovel is about to go under the knife so she's staying for quite a while. The other two have much less sentimental value to me, the Dyna being the least since I bought it on a whim thinking my brother wanted to get into riding. And didn't…
No complaints tho, it's my problem and I don't mind it.

Did I mention that there's now 4 bikes in my garage? A bit crowded it is. Sons 125cc DUKE and wifey bought a Nightster which is under the knife atm.
Son wants some mods also, but he's gonna learn to do it himself.
Shovel done for this winter, Injun waiting some bits an pieces…busy winter... -

Out looking at bikes today, and the local Ducati dealer had the 2016
PikeyPikes Peak Multistrada in. I didn't expect it to make an appearance for a month or two yet.
It's got a lot of go-faster parts installed as standard, and looks a fun machine.
